August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Recommended Posts

I had my 3month appt yesterday and even though I have been hard on myself about this latest stall and slow progress he was very pleased and put it in perspective for me. He anticipated a loss of 96 pounds total over 18months. I am down 1/3 in 3 months (33lbs).

I feel much better about my progress now. It feels like it's been longer.

Wow! you look fantastic! Believe me, shedding those last few lbs to get into the 100's will feel like forever, i sat at exactly 200 for at least 3 days...but how exciting once you get there!!

Congratulations! We’re on the same countdown lol. Our numbers are similar too. Pre-op 247, sleeved 8/23, I’m currently 201.8 and dying to be under 200 when I see my surgeon on Thursday but since I get weighed with shoes and stuff I doubt it.

Keep up the amazing work. You look fantastic!!

Its great to see everyone's progress. Mine is slow and steady, but I'm ok with that.

I'm a big girl, so I have a lot to lose, so slow a steady is the way to go.

Keep up the great work!

This week I have a follow up appointment with the surgeon. I'm so excited to step on the scale!! I've been weighing myself at home every Tuesday and know what my scale has said.

I just wanted to ask everyone in here, since having the surgery to now, have you seen a spike in your hunger or appetite? I ask this because this past week to weekend, I swear it felt like NOTHING was satisfying my "hunger". For example, in prior weeks, I was able to drink 1/2 of a Protein Shake and feel fine for a while. This past weekend, I was able to finish one off. Help or suggestions are greatly appreciated since I don't want to go off the rails because that is where binging starts.

I’m the same, I want to graze and nibble things. I still can only eat very small meals, but in between I want to eat nuts finding it hard to stick to 800 - 1000 calories.

Hunger comes in waves for me. It depends on what is going on. I will have three or four days in a row of being able to eat exactly on plan without blinking then people will come over or my family will have something great for dinner/snacks/dessert or we'll spend all day at home or whatever and then it's a struggle. A lot of tiny temptations. I fight them off but it's tougher sometimes than others.

I am finding though that if I feel like cheating a little bit, I do less damage and create less of a setback if I cheat on calories but not carbs. I'm shooting for 950 calories, 55 carbs per day. I seem to lose less ground eating 1200 calories/45 carbs than 1100 calories/75 carbs.

Edited by etc. etc. etc.

Hey August sleevers, my stats as of this morning is 51.8 lbs down with 1 week preop diet. 43.6 down since surgery. I started at 296.4 /day of surgery 286.4. Just wondering if anyone has similar stats and was sleeved around same time. I want to know if I am doing okay or not cuz I honestly feel I'm not losing fast enough. [emoji21]

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
