2 weeks post op and a stall

Recommended Posts

Im not sure if the sleeve is not working for me. I did well on my pre op diet. I lost 34# and then 10# after surgery 8/9/17 when I was weighed 1 week post op. I have since stalled and the scale hasnt budged. I work out at the gym 3-4 times a week and for my meals i eat 4oz at a time. example Breakfast is 2oz greek yogurt light n fit, 2oz low fat cottage cheese. then mid day a Premier Protein shake for a snack. then later 2oz scrambled egg and 2oz ricotta bake. later a Protein Water till i get home from work and dinner is usually a a Soup or a Protein Shake. any suggestions how to shake it up some?

My weight loss graph since surgery looks like steps, not a ramp. I asked my surgeon about it and he said not to worry and that I was doing everything correctly. Always check with your doctor, but I suspect that there is nothing wrong and you will continue to lose a bit, then pause, then drop down again, then pause, etc. I have not lost weight at a steady rate since my surgery, but it does come off and averages out to be normal, just bumpier than most others. Check with your Doc and keep up the good work, you'll do great, I promise!:1312_thumbsup_tone3:

Weighing the same from week 1 to week 2 is not a stall. Not losing weight in one week does not mean the sleeve is not working.

Paitence is important. Make sure you are drinking enough Water too. It is working you lost alot pre surgery so maybe your body is just catching up.

But your able to eat an amazing amount one week post, i love hearing what everyone is able to eat. I am 7 weeks post and cant manage both yogurt and cottage cheese at the same etc. 2 weeks post .I was at 1 ounce at a time.maybe 2 . Keep up the good work.

I was told not to work out for 6 weeks.

my dr told me to do as much cardio as i can handle but no resistance or strength training for 6 months or so. i havent worked out for a few daiys because i stupidly lifted a laundry basket and strained my one incision. I see so many people struggling to eat but I can eat 2-4 oz depending on what it is no problem. drinking I do normally although I feel more restriction with that.

You're not at a stall. A stall lasts for a week or two and it's just your body reshuffling. Your sleeve works. You just have to be patient. Every single person goes through stalls. Most are at 3 weeks when they introduce solids. You are on them now so that could be why. Just relax, it'll happen

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
