Anyone Feel Sick Simply Dieting?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of losing weight before my bypass, but I feel sick as a dog.

I have no fever, just feel extraordinarily weak with a headache.

Could this be low sugar or Protein? I've been on enough diets that you'd think I would know, but I've never felt like this.

I'm not diabetic that I know of.

Has anyone else felt like this? 😔

That's how I'm feeling now. I'm doing my preop liquid diet and I almost feel as if I'm a diabetic and my sugar is low. I'm not a diabetic and presume it's part of my body freaking out over the change in my eating habits. Hang in there and remember that this will be worth it.

Also have you started removing caffeine? That can make you feel like that.

No. I'm just at the beginning stage of losing the required weight.

I do! I started my pre op liquid diet last Tuesday. I've been nauseous and light headed the whole way. And everything I smell makes me feel sick too. All I'm drinking are 5 Atkins shakes a day per my surgeon. I'm type 2 diabetic. I've lost 16 lbs though. That's a plus but, it's pure misery.

I need to find out if I am diabetic. I've eaten less than this when I've dieted before, and never felt like this. But congrats on your weight loss!!!!!

I have been on my pre-op diet for 3days now. I feel very low energy, a drained type feeling all day long. Thinking my body feels like its in shock, wondering what in the heck am I doing..LOL But I just have to simply remind myself why I am doing this. I know this hard work will reward me greatly and I couldn't be more grateful to have this chance to live life much healthier/happy. [emoji847]

I was exactly the same way the first 3 days then I started feeling better. I am type 2 diabetic as well. My blood sugars have been great on the liquid diet. I don't even feel hungry now as I think my body is getting used to this new way of eating.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
