Anyone around 5'3-5'5 and weight 250-270 how much weight did you lose in your first 6 months

I'm 5'3". In April when my first appt with surgeon was, I was at 252. I lost weight pre surgery and was 231 a week before surgery.

I am now 5 weeks post RNY, and I weigh 198!

I urge you not to compare to other people though. I was worried about whether I was losing enough after 3 weeks, and that's the advice I got.

My surgeon says women lose a few pounds, then go several days without loss and then lose a few more, and so on. This has been the case for me.

Surgery is driving your weight loss. Do what your team recommends and you'll do great.

My goal is about 120 I think... That's a healthy BMI. I could probably go even lower, but we will see how 120 looks and feels!

5'3"

High weight - April 2016 271.5 (there may have been times when it was higher, but that's the highest recorded.)

Surgery Weight 246.9 on August 23, 2016

Current Weight 172.3 - 99.x pounds - I want to get into the 150s. I've been stuck for about 2 months, but I'm putting on a lot of muscle -

I'm down from barely fitting into size 22 pants and 2XL tops to wearing size 10 and 8 pants and L and M tops. I am about a week from my surgiversary.

Yes that's great I was just worrying about being below the weight amount .... I think my goals weigh would be 140-150 be like you said I wanna see how it looks on me

I'm 5'2" weighed 275+ at my highest. Less than a year post-op, I reached goal. Have been maintaining 120-122 for over 4 years now. Was a tight size 4X, been a size 00-0 ever since reaching goal.

At first maintenance was VERY challenging! I think I've now figured out the right balance for me, so it's getting easier. I will always be vigilant about my food choices and exercise. But I'm very happy with how i'm eating & LOVE working out!!

I would say maintenance is way harder than the weight loss phase

I haven't got to 6 months yet had surgery April 2017, weighed 250 ( my highest weight was 290 June 2016 when I started the program) current weight is 194 , hoping to get to 170.

Maintenance is hard. Daily
It is a different life!

Because it's not new and exciting and sexy. You aren't getting complements and new clothes and firsts. Because you STILL have to keep watching what you eat and drink and your activity level. Forever. And you can eat more and it's oh so easy to slide back into bad habits and eat sliders that go down easily.

First, there isn't the excitement and motivation from the scale, looser clothing or others complimenting.

Second, it's a fine line between losing & gaining, at least for me. VERY difficult to find that line and be able to stay comfortably there, for life. You don't want to feel deprived as that will lead to old habits & regain. You need to always be mindful of eating/exercising without it consuming you. You need to find an exercise program that you can do consistently and your relationship to food must be eat to live NOT live to eat.

In the losing phase, we sometimes feel like our way of eating/exercising is a temporary way of life until goal. It's not, this is for life if we want to maintain.

      I walk 3-5 miles daily and I have picked up Hoola Hooping! I am on a dang roll and I love it.
      SO HAPPY I GOT THE SLEEVE!
      Sorry I have been absent on here but I really have made it a point to take care of ME. My exercise time is precious so I have to get it in before working or anything else.

      Ok I had surgery on Jan 27 2020 so I am 3 weeks out and have lost 32 lbs  I wish I had this done sooner. Now just trying to figure out different things to eat so I am not eating the same thing over and over. I did order some stuff today from the Bariatric Store and that stuff should be here in time for my next phase. I have a goal of 50 lbs by the first of June hope that is attainable. Good luck to every one on this journey
