Any regrets or things you wish you would have known beforehand??

Hi everyone,

I am booked in for revisional surgery from gastric band to MGB in a months time, however I am feeling a tad nervous about life afterwards with it being a more complicated surgery.

Can anyone please tell me how you felt afterwards and if you regret anything??

Thanks in advance guys

Expect the recovery time to be surprisingly long. I was very functional 2 days out of surgery, but it took 3-4 months to really get my strength back. (I had a virgin sleeve, so my recovery right out of surgery was quicker than someone with a revision... so you might not feel quite as "functional" for a week or so).

You'll also be surprised, in a good way, that after the 8 week diet that "full" feels more natural and comfortable than with the band.

I didn't have a revision but I did have the MGB. My recovery took a few weeks to get my energy back. I was walking a couple of hours after surgery. About a couple of weeks after surgery, I didn't have much energy and my nutritionist told me to start with a little of a protein shake a few days early. It worked. I got my energy back and haven't had any issues since.
