And sometimes acid doesn't cause pain, just a gnawing hunger sensation.

Try this... are you hungry for a particular food? Or will anything satisfy? If it's true hunger or acid anything will do. If it's something specific or a type of food, it's head hunger usually... just mind cravings.

So glad I found this post. I was sleeved July 18 and just started puréed foods. I eat 8 ounces and I'm still starving with my stomach doing flips. I was under the impression that I'd be taking 4-5 bites and be full. I'm so hoping these hunger feeling and craving start to diminish.

I thought I was the only one dealing with this.

I wasn't really hungry, but I understand. Even now, almost 12 weeks out, I eat because I should. To because I'm hungry. You'll make it through this phase just as the rest of us did and you'll be happy you did. Good luck!

I'm starting to question this whole thing... I feel like the only reason I had any weight loss is because I starved myself for 4 weeks.

Is that really all it is? Just a phase and the starvation I'm feeling will subside? Oh I hope because it's really starting to depress me. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better and passed it.

That's just it, I never felt bad. Yes, there were times, and still are when I eat something that's tasty going down and coming up. Though I never felt starved and if we're honest, many of us are overweight because we enjoy eating.

I come from a family of good cooks and eating bland foods and the liquid diet wasn't cutting it. So I started with fresh chicken, herbs, and spices and made my own broth. That was much tastier than anything bottled or canned. I'm picky about what I eat and if it's not appealing, I forgo it. I guess it helps that I'm really not hungry.

Now my challenge is committing to working out. That's key to getting toned and reaching my goal of a healthier me.

At the moment I am having 125mls of up n go or milk for brekkie, 125mls Protein Water for morning tea, half a cuppa Soup for lunch, juice or protein water again for afternoon tea and half a cuppa soup for dinner. And then approx 300mls water through out the day/night.
Does this sound normal? Does it get easier?

You may want to cut sugar, like the sugar in the juice. It can cause insulin level to jump and then hunger after the crash. I feel like sugar gives me more cravings too, so I try to stay away from it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
