So Hungry
I feel like I am on a PPI (I don't think they use that abbreviation in Aus sorry!), I am on medication for acid reflux. I think I'll talk to my doc to see if I'm taking a high enough dosage. Thanks for your advice! Just curious, what was the pain relating to? Acid reflux? I have had hardly any pain to the point where I don't even take paracetamol and that has been since I have gotten out of the hospital. The only discomfort has really been the hunger pains. I hope that's normal and a good thing!

So Hungry
Yeah I think I am on a form of PPI (I haven't heard that term in Australia but I am on medication for acid reflux so I imagine it's the same thing) but others are suggesting I might have to up the intake so I'll talk to my doctor about it. Otherwise though, u are right. The moment I am distracted with something else, I don't feel hungry. Thank u for your help!

So Hungry
Thank u so much SuperDave! I definitely feel the support on this forum which is amazing when no one else in your life really understand what you are going through. I will definitely switch up the water for the shakes as I seem to be able to drink about 600mls of water a day now. Getting better each day! Yay!

Oh wow thanks for that! I didn't even think of that as an option. I might email my doctor and ask him what he thinks.

So Hungry
Hahahaha oh I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling that way! For some reason I thought that I wouldn't be very hungry at all straight after but I was wrong! I am one week post op now and feeling great even did cooking for other people and wasn't as much of a struggle as I thought it would be

So Hungry
Hi all, I was sleeved on 27th July in Brisbane and I am struggling with how hungry I am. I had no idea how bad it would be and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I have found that if I have some milk in the morning I am not too hungry during the day but I don't know if milk is the best for my new sleeve. At the moment I am having 125mls of up n go or milk for brekkie, 125mls protein water for morning tea, half a cuppa soup for lunch, juice or protein water again for afternoon tea and half a cuppa soup for dinner. And then approx 300mls water through out the day/night. Does this sound normal? Does it get easier?

Hey Casey, have you considered getting money out of your super to pay for it instead of waiting?

Coping mechanisms
I 100% have those worries. I feel as though eating, drinking alcohol and smoking are all the fun things in my life and that once I have the surgery and can't do those things, then I won't have fun. I am going to speak to someone about it as I don't want to develop adjustment issues or anything like that. I think we just have to find something that brings us as much joy as food and all those nasty things I am getting a puppy about a week after the surgery so I have that to look forward to and I know she will keep me busy. Good luck! I hope it all works out for you. I feel as though we aren't alone in our feelings and if everyone else can do it then we can too Sent from my SM-N9005 using BariatricPal mobile app
