Hi ladies, at least I think they're all ladies in here. My apologies if there's a guy. I am six days postop, I cannot drink the protein shakes at all. Even with anti-nausea medication. I do fine getting my water in. And I can get a little bit of broth on occasion. But I am so weak. I'm supposed to be on a complete liquid diet for another 15 days.
But I've read and watched some various posts and YouTube videos that people started their soft foods in week two. I was wondering if anybody had any information on waiting for the end of week three to start soft foods or what their thoughts are on starting a little bit earlier. Since I'm not getting any nutrition except from vitamins.

Hi. It really depends on the person and how your doctor and nutritionist are seeing your recovery. The y started me on purees and creams and greek yogurt after 1 week postop. But you really need to try to find a way to get the proteins in because they are like (beside water) the most important thing. I think they sell like shots of protein and I know the protein tastes awful but it is what it is. Or talk to your doctor and try to find a solution together
