:1312_thumbsup_tone3:wow you really keep it real. I haven't got a date yet. But now I'm wondering do I want one.

:60_sweat::53_cold_sweat: that painful huh. OK here I go again. Talking to Self ..self stand strong you can do it. Hope you feel better Mr. Surgery before me.

Yeah, It's not the end of the world....but it's rough...or it was for me, but seriiously, like I said, it lasted the day of the surgery and then about 75% of the next day...then it went WAY down...don't be scared, but don't go into it thinking it's a cakewalk.

Did you have complications? Why were you in the hospital 3 days? Or is that standard policy where you have surgery. I spent about 26 hours at the hospital.

YES I had extenuating circumstances that kept me in one day longer - MOST OF YOU will not have this problem.

I have a clotting disorder called Factor 5 Leiden. They just kept me one more day to monitor my clotting and my transition.

The only thing that feels bad right now is the incisions. They sting and ache like little puncture wounds.

I' only take the pain meds if I'm going to sleep or nap because it allows me to get some rest.

The past two days I've gotten my 64 ozs of Water in.

Today I tried some broth but couldn't "eat/drink" it all. I've been sipping on smart water.

Haven't had any weird vomiting and nausea is ALMOST non xistent...but not quite gone.

Seriously, someone using AMA in conjunction with Hospital and Discharge would mean against medical advice in anyone's eyes who had anything to do with medical field. Totally understandable and justified. He apparently is just using a different acronym. You are brilliant AND look great! No worries!!

It's kinda like, someone knocked your ass out, stabbed you six times in the gut and you woke up in the hospital unable to eat anything or sleep at all.

Hahaha! This is a perfect description of the first two days! I felt much better on day three and tremendously better on day four, but YES, those first two days feel like a post alley-way beating for sure!

Half tum- I'm day 3 post op and feel sick all the time. I have a high passion tolerance, but this is horrible. How do you get 64 Oz in? Protein shake? I hardly can do 5oz per day and I feel sick

Small sips, persistence.

Repeat

Also anti nausea medicine and naps. You can do it!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
