Restarting my journey

Hello everyone, I'm not new to the lap band process. My initial surgery was in 2007, (250 lbs). First three years I did well. 2010 There was a slippage of the band. Revision performed and band replaced. Unfortunately this band not working as well as the first one. Embraced to see my doctor cause I gained 40 lbs back. She ran a few test to make sure everything was good. We find my esaphagus was dilated. Which meant emptying my band to allow this to heal. Finally in Jan 2017 I was good to start adjusting the band. I get adjusted by our NP for a few days I felt restricted and then nothing. After a few months I see the surgeon who decided to do X-ray under fluoroscopy.. I have a leak.. surgery is scheduled for Friday 7/28/17, which means I'm restarting my journey. Including my liquid diet tomorrow..😃

Good morning everyone, surgery went well. My surgeon only had to replace the port. She filled me with 1cc of Fluid. Yesterday I maintained clear liquid diet. Today I can try soft food.

Good afternoon everyone, feeling pretty good. For me to get started in the morning must have a ☕️ with fat free half/half and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Breakfast I drank NUTRISYSTEM NUTRÍ CRUNCH shake, taste pretty good, I like it cold. lunch 1/2 cup of mixed green vegetables with teaspoon of nuts, cheese, onion and chicken. 2 tablespoons of light balsamic vinegar with olive oil. Took a while to finish. Feel full but not ill. In about 20 minutes will start drinking my mint induced Water, which hopefully will carry me till supper... in this new journey I'm putting a lot of what I learned in WW to keep myself on healthy track.

Rylopez:

I am happy and excited for you as you begin your new journey. As for me, my journey begins tomorrow. I am fairly new to the site (only 2 days) and am pretty nervous. Tomorrow, I have my consultation with the doctor to determine if I qualify for the surgery. Let's hope my insurance will approve me. I will continue to follow you and provide you with all my positive energy, prayers and Buen pensamientos. With all that said. Eat healthy, rest and recuperate.

Regards,

A new friend

Hi Brittany1225, Regardless of the outcome stay positive. Besides being a Bariatric patient, I was lucky enough to have worked in their office for a while and was able to learn and understand a lot. Stay positive, let me know the outcome and I will help you through it as best as possible.

Tranquila!! 👍

Good Morning Rylopez:

Hope all is well with your recovery and your journey. I had my initial consultation for the weight loss surgery and I am a candidate for the surgery. I initially went in wanting the lap band surgery but my Doctor recommended that I have a sleeve done. I wasn't too quick to rush and say yes, but I informed the doctor that I needed time to think, research and then ultimately decided. I have a minimum of 7 months to decide since I have to take a six months nutritional weight loss plan as required under my insurance plan. I am very optimistic that this time around I'll be approved. Hopefully, I can have the surgery in time for my 49th Birthday, it will be my birthday gift to myself. I am currently 5'5 and weighing in at 227lbs and have a weight goal of 140lbs. In the meantime, I will focus on what needs to be done( major life changes) are coming my way which I will accomplish, overcome and conquer as I patiently wait while I complete all that is required of me for the surgery. With all that being said "Me voy en ese camino, con Dios para adelante".

Brittany1225
