Christian bandsters

Recommended Posts

I may have said this in the other Christian bandster thread but when I was thinking about the band and if it was the right thing to do my sil who had gastric bypass said she felt that the scripture about if your hand offends you cut it off, if your eye offends you pluck it out gave her peace. Her stomach was offending her so she did what she had to.

As for me, I prayed about it, started researching bypass surgery and found out about the lapband (I think it was the Lord) then I tried to get it done with my dh's insurance and they said absolutely no bariatric surgery. So I prayed some more. I was able to pick up insurance at my job, I qualified and it paid 100%. I feel it was God the whole time. He just kept opening doors. I feel very blessed to have the band.

wow you could have written my story for me. I never have felt to sure about anything in my life. I had a door close and another opens,.,,,, I am using a Dr. that Saved my life after another weight loss surgery that failed. I think that the Lord put him back in my path again.

At sign up time in November I will be joining my Companys insurance that will pay 15,000 towards my new life. My DH's insurance wont pay at all. It will be 09 when i have my 2nd rebirth.... I cant wait.

I would love to hear how you are doing after this post.

Blessings to you all

Your Sister in Christ,

Mary in Arkansas

Well friends, God is always in control & is ever faithful to hear and answer our prayers. My PET scan was negative, my oncologist is going to repeat the CT/chest in 4 mo. to measure size changes. My primary care doctor thinks I should wait for surgery until Jan after they do the follow-up CT. My oncologist said the surgery can be done now. I have an appt with the urologist 10/06 & he's the one who originally wanted the surgery postponed 1-2 mo. And, when all the reports are in, the surgeon will ultimately decide when it should be done (all done in Gods' time).MarilynC

Oh, Marilyn, what good news. God is indeed in control and hears our prayers. All of us are blessed with this news because it give us just another opportunity to praise and thank Him. I hope the news continues to be positive, and you can be banded soon.

I just wanted to tell you how refreshing my first evening at the Christian Thread was. I went to bed feeling good about what I had read. I have to say that the testimonies here are so positive and uplifting.

Some nights I have gone to bed thinking,,,,,,,OH ME,,,, am I stirring up a stink for myself?

I was a product of the staple procedure back in the 80's. It back fired and i had to have it reversed. I lost too much weight and was right at deaths door. I am bigger than ever again. I pray for guidance and success in the adventure that I am planning. I pray the same blessings on my new friends that I hope to make while visiting here.

I am in Arkansas, 52, and looking to be Banded ASAP after the first of the year. I will be changing my insurance company.

Later Tators...

Mary:smile:

Mary, I'm glad you never gave up on God blessing your life! The Lapband will surely be a whole new beginning for you, diff than the first one. Remain faithful to God and what He has in store for you and don't be afraid to give him your heart's desires. He always knows what we need but ever loves to hear us call on Him!!

A November Date! Hi Sisters of Surgery (SOS), I like to make up abbrev.

My surgery date is Nov. 12th, and am working on well to prepare for it. I have been reading this thread from the beginning and been so encouraged by the posts. Looking forward to participating and gaining insight from the forerunners! Your kindness and suggestions truly help others. Would like to hear some more of your stories, like Brenda in S.C., Long to Be Thin, and Phylser, yours is amazing! Also to stand with JoannMarie, Marilyn and Melody Mary and i.e. AnnE! I just found a good book, (with others I am reading).. Spiritual Secrets to Weight Loss by Kara Davis, a 50 Day Renewal, seems so far balanced, encouraging and even suggests with an accountable partner! I have bout 50 days, so I thought this will be cool to do with my support sister at home. Have a Healthy Day of Choices!:bolt:

Hello to all,

I heard from the bariatric coordinator yesterday afternoon. Apparently I have been cleared for surgery, and my chart is on its way to the scheduler for a DATE! I should hear from her early next week. After all these months of waiting it still seems like she was talking to someone else - one of those "out of body" experiences - haha. I am hoping for an early date, of course, but am left a little bit nervous...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
