Good morning everyone. I'm still at my appt airing for the next phase. I just had a great conversation with my nut. She's awesome. I told her my frustrations with the whole carb thing. ? Thankfully she isn't about no carbs. She wants me to have complex carbs. Doesn't want me to count but have an idea based on how I'm feeling doing, what Protein, carbs, and fats I'm having daily. She's put a lot of trust in me, simply because I used to study nutrition in college. I was studying to become a nutritionist, lol. Go figure!!!!! I didn't finish it though, decided to work in accounting. I still have that knowledge but didn't put it to use the past 8 years or so.

As for exercise, she wants me to do interval cardio. Nothing high intensity now, still healing but when walking, walk faster for three mins, then walk slow for a few mins. Keep repeating that. That'll help keep my muscle cause I'm pretty sure I lost some.

Oh, here's the exciting part. I'm down 14 pounds since surgery (and that's starting my menstrual yesterday!). I now weigh 230. My starting weight was 258. So a total of 28 lbs down. My highest ever was 266, but I managed to lose 8 lbs in like a year, lol, before I started this journey.

Funny thing is, it's great the weight I lost, but I haven't really put much emphasis on he number, I'm just glad that my clothes are getting lose and I'm finally walking a bunch more. So glad I did this. I'm so glad. ?

I like the way your nut thinks. Congrats on losing 14 pounds. That is awesome!!!

I'm assuming they don't know. ? I'm sure it wouldn't be noticed. Besides, you can always say you're not that hungry now.

They don't know. It went fine. I had the soup and was able to eat most of it. Thank you!

I do too. My surgeon just reiterated everything she said too. He says he used to teach his patients, protein protein protein. But after years of his practice and lots of research, he has found that this way of eating is a sustainable way and weight loss can and will be achieved when we stick to it. I'm so glad he isn't all about protein and no carbs. I love him. ?

Thank you for posting those papers @newme17. It has been very helpful for me.

Good morning @Sweet as peaches. Thank you for always posting such encouraging words.

Today is a much easier day at work. All the emails are caught up so I have some time to check in. Today will be my first lunch outing with co-workers. We are having a going away party for one of my students leaving for grad school. I will order Soup and hopefully nobody notices how little I am eating.

Well thank you so much. I feel like I'm talking to family. The bond we share makes me feel like I am home. You guys lift my spirits up and we all share a fascinating experience in common. So I am blessed to know all of you ladies. Continued success. Hope your lunch went well.

I am sure others will find it helpful also. I do have access to my nut anytime I have any questions, and I have the Big Book on VSG, by Alex Brecher. I might email her with some questions because I really think having 9 phases is kind of confusing and unnecessary.

I like all of the explanations and the shopping list of ideas. I have been combining my week 3 & 4 since there are only a few additional items in week 4.

One thing I do need to do is make an appointment with my pcp at 3 months to get my blood work done.

So today my system has gone way over to the other side and I have literally been running to the bathroom. This is complicated by the fact that my lab is a bio- control lab with a quarantine facility. Most of my work is inside quarantine which requires me to suit up before entering and strip it off on exiting. There is no restroom in quarantine....

Y'all would have been laughing at me today if you could have seen me trying to get out of my suit, I am sure I set a record for. Quickest exit from quarantine... ??

Well, I was absent for the evening. I really felt like going to church tonight. I'm glad I did, it was very uplifting and encouraging.

I made spinach and cheese stuffed portobello mushrooms for dinner tonight. I added some chicken to it too. I forgot to take a picture of it. Looked great and tasted great too, but I only got maybe 4 bites in. Today, was a little weird, like my restriction is even more than what it was yesterday or so. I don't know, maybe I'm not as hungry, I guess. Didn't really eat much of anything. I couldn't finish my protein drink. I didn't finish my coffee. Just drank a lot of water, so that's good.

well, I found out some of my Netflix shows added the next seasons to them. I'm gonna adios out of here and enjoy some entertainment. Y'all have yourself a great and blessed night. I speak great dreams and good sleep over all of you. ??
