Why don't you try cocotein by isopure, it's liquid whey protein .. it's the best.. it's clear, taste good. Gluten , aspartame and lactose free. 20 grams of protein and 100% absorbed by your body. It's delicious and you wont have to deal with powder. They have different flavors too. You can find it in GNC and the Vitamin Shopp

Do you just drink it like water or can you also mix it with other things like coffee and yogurt? If it tastes good I may just use it as my water and forgo mixing extra protein into other things.

I am going to go and try to find it today.

So, the only people that knew about my surgery was my grandparents, my mom, and my two best friends. Today, I kind o had an epiphany...why do I care if anyone else knows? I'm becoming heathy for me, and am changing my life. It is by no means easy, so why would I be ashamed and care what others' opinions are? Just sharing my life lesson of the day. I wish we were all neighbors!!! Lol. Imagine our get togethers. ?

Oh yes! That would be cool. The stitched ladies would be running things with our protein shakes and water in our coolers. Watching our stitches heal and laughing while clutching our sides. Walking trips to the grocery planning of next phase of the diet. Kool party.

I failed to share this earlier. Went to church this morning. I had three people say "you look really good". And it wasn't a body thing, they all motioned the face. Isn't that something? A couple of them don't know I had surgery, one did.

I ask my little girl and she said Mommy you do look more happy. People can see the outside of us more than we can.

Oh you have us we can keep you company.

Ok that is good to know it is normal.

My surgeon video taped my surgery and gave it to me on a thumb drive. I tried to watch it tonight and had to stop after about 5 minutes in. Something about knowing the tissue that was bleeding was mine was making me queezy . Seeing him lift my liver up and using gauze inside my abdomen was just too much. I found myself thinking I hope he didn't leave any inside me. I really want to watch the whole thing. Maybe in a few weeks I'll be able to do it.

Wow, i cringe looking at someone else much less myself. I would be thinking the same way.

So, it's bedtime for me. Since I'm off the narcs I get to drive. Gotta get back to the routine of life here tomorrow. Get the kids to school. I'm going in to work as well. I feel really good actually. Best part, my boss won't be in until tues or Wednesday so I get to catch up on work by myself. Yay!! I work for a small pipeline construction company that has a huge revenue. It's been awesome, I was a stay at home mom for a long time. My youngest wanted to go to prek, guess she was bored with me. Lol. So since she went to school I figured I might as well as work and stay busy. I used to work corporate jobs, about 13 years of it. This small company has been exciting and interesting. I've had to rearrange a lot of the accounting procedures though. Not sure how they stayed afloat before. Haha.

Thankfully it's a desk job (the only ones I like) and part time for the time being. Ill be full time soon though. I'll be sure to get up and walk around throughout my day. I'm anticipating a great start tomorrow. Anyone else going back to work earlier than two weeks?

That's cool. I just get my daughter up and then i make my shakes. Then send her off and take my meds then sleepy time. I am not even tired but i nap to stay strong. I return after my next advancing cause it would be too much to do the protein shakes. So surgeon and nut appointment is on 6/6 so I will return after i get clearance. I wish you luck enjoy your first day back make sure you report.

I already had a hernia that my surgeon fixed while doing the gastrectomy.

I have a hernia since i was 15 but never notice it until now. The surgeon is going to wait until im less in pounds before tackling that beast.

Do you have more pain than you anticipated after both have been removed? And how are you managing?

Actually, I'm feeling great! I haven't had any pain medicine since I came home. I didn't know what to anticipate, so I kind of just took it as it was.

She shoots she scores. Way to go our next meeting we take our pain medicine and play basketball and slam dunk them in the garbage. Great job!

Thank you @Sweet as peaches. I have been sitting here trying to update the budget from all the spending me and dh did in Mexico. I need to make a grocery run and I am going to try and find some of that Cocotein that @mishyk posted about.

I will catch up with you all later today.

Ok so I mixed half a scoop of powdered Protein with my 4oz of yogurt. OMG it was gross. ? It was supposed to be unflavored, but definitely not!

So I ended up throwing it away . I will have to try the powder in something else. I did managemto get 3oz of the plain low fat vanilla yogurt down. It felt and tasted heavenly to me after a week of nothing but Clear Liquids. I am finding it hard to wait 30 minutes to start drinking again. I have to keep reminding myself.

I lost 8 pounds this first week. I am happy with that. I was fully prepared for a smaller number so I was pleasantly surprised.

My dh went back to work today so I am here alone just me and my little pooch Tink. I am a little lost as to what to do. I know what I should be doing I have a list of things to get accomplished, but I just seem to be lacking motivation today. It is raining outside so maybe that is contributing to my lazy mood.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday morning ?

I too threw out my "overnight oats" ...it definitely didn't soak up the protein and make it soft. I had two tiny spoons and decided it was enough. Next time I'll just cook the oats and then add the premier protein afterwards.

I've tried to make "protein cake" out of the powder stuff before...nasty too.

Glad the yogurt was good for you.

I'm sold if it's artificial sweetener free!!! I'll have to look for it.

Great lesson! :) I don't care who knows...I've actually shared with many people! Yesterday I thought, maybe I'll end up being a coach or something for women going through the process of WLS. I have the heart to encourage and help other women in different aspects (currently, I've got a few friends having trouble with their marriages. They call me, I help and pray with them) I love getting together for coffees and some solid downtime talks. It's just who I am....and this just might be my training ground for the wls portion. ;)
