When does this nausea get better...I'm 13 days post op and have such a hard time with any food (I'm on purée) and now Protein. I know for sure I'm not getting enough liquids in...not sure what to do at this point...any help would be great...everything I eat goes right through me and I have to run to the bathroom....I don't want to get dehydrated. I can get Water down (about 32 ozs a day) but I can't live off of just water.

Have you asked your doctor to prescribe you something for the nausea? I know you must feel awful. Maybe try some Imodium for the diarrhea if your doc says it is ok. I'm sorry I am not much help. I think a phone call to the doc might be a good idea. I am so sorry you are having a rough time.

Yes I have Zolfran for the nausea...I take it a few times a day but I really don't want to get dehydrated but don't know how to get my liquids in and food in when I just can't...

Ok here are the photos of my salmon dinner. I served myself 4 oz, but could only eat half of it. My stomach was happy, but full.

Kitchen done or not, I cleared some space and cooked up some shrimp and sausage with veggies (peppers, zucchini, onion, garlic). Old bay seasoning, pepper, salt, red pepper flakes.

Yum!

Have you actually vomited? Were you able to drink and eat at any point or have you always felt the nausea? If your amount have been increasing and the nausea getting better I would think it might be normal and your stomach is just taking a little longer to heal. I would probably call the doctor because you could be getting a stricture?

No I don't actually vomit....I have the runs when I do eat something. I have been able to eat...jello, sf pudding but it's not everyday some days it's just liquids. What is a stricture?

A stricture is when scar tissue narrows the opening into the stomach. The symptom are nausea and vomiting. I don't have any personal experience with this and I am only repeating what I have read on this forum. I sure hope your issues get better soon.

@patty0715 hon I think you should call your doc as soon as you're able. Zofran can stop you up for miles, and if you're taking it a few times a day, maybe it might be one of the culprits of not getting things down. Sometimes our digestive system can play the part. But, with that said, it can really dehydrate you too. I think your best bet at this point is to call your doc. Sorry I can't be of much help but please keep us updated. I'm wishing you well hon.

As for dinner. Thanks ladies. It was good. Only was able to get 1.5 shrimp, a piece of sausage and a few veggies.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
