Got released this afternoon. Have a lot of pain at the incision where they pulled out my stomach. Even with pain medication. Other than that I am having a tough time getting down more than one or two tablespoons of anything without feeling sick. From what I read that seems normal for the first few days.

I went in Monday for the sleeve. The pain I had after waking up was horrible. Things calmed down after a few hours. Every time I started to doze off my oxygen would drop. They moved me to another section of the hospital to monitor me closer. They put a cpap on me Monday night but it didn't do much good. I ended up trying to sleep with the oxygen tube in my mouth. They did this because I sleep with my mouth open. I was pretty good pain wise until last night when I was in tears. My stomach was very sore from the 7 holes. I was a lot better by mid afternoon today. They just have me honey to coat my stomach. My swallow test yesterday went well.
I'm still on oxygen and staying another night. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow!

Sorry if that is confusing! I'm not really with it yet :/

Why 7 holes?

Why 7 holes?

That's a good question! I know the dr used a DaVinci machine for the operation, so maybe that's why. I'll ask when the dr comes around tomorrow.

Well just got woken up from a deep sleep to some serious heartburn. All I have here is the chewy tums like a starburst candy and Zantac. Terrified to take either so I woke my dad up to bring me to Walmart and got some mylanta and it's working wonders.

Didn't think I'd have to worry about that whole just drinking water!!!!

woke up this morning and seems like the gas pains have gone so now I feel the incisions more but its all improvement so I am happy.

I am back at work but I work from home at a desk so its not very challenging. I will take lots of breaks but the sitting upright in the chair seems to be a good thing.

I did ok with liquid and proteins yesterday not on target but getting there. I am going to focus more on that today.

The noise coming from my stomach is something else growling away like crazy.

Any if you still taking the pain meds?
I don't feel I need it as I'm not in any pain and it just make me sleep all the time which prevents me from getting all my fluids in.
But the hubby is scared I started hurting and it take forever to catch-up per say.

Day 4 after surgery and still have horrible pain where they removed the stomach. Still not able to get all my liquids for the day. I think the max I had was 20 oz. ever time I take a tablespoon of anything it makes me sick to my stomach and I get tremendous pressures in the chest.

Well last night I had some what if a huge scare!!! I decided to sit down and start remove the sticky stuff from my bandages. As I was doing so I couldn't see some of the bruising around my belly button so I took a picture so I can see all of it and had a small panic attack. I called the Dr and he said all was fine. I'm not in pain and that it's from the blood thinners that was given to me. I'll post a picture but be forewarned!!!IMG_2131.JPG

I can't relate to the pain as I haven't had any since the gas pain went away. But as for as liquids I've been putting the timer on for 1hr and making sure I drink 1oz every 15 mins. I only get discomfort when taking the liquid pain meds I guess cause it's thicker than the water but nothing bad that I can't handle.

Also see if you can get some Core water from Sam's Club. It has electrolytes and minerals that may help.

Wow-- that is impressive!! I don't have much in brushing but my belly is very lopsided...going to call the doctor & see if it's anything to be concerned about.
Hope you continue to recover well!!

Hope you get better-- I'm doing ok on liquids, just have to remind myself to drink small amounts.
