buttercup,

Good luck! Can't wait to see you back here.

jbrad,

I know how you feel. Some days nothing seems to go well. I'm glad we have this forum to vent. Why does real life keep getting in the way of our fantasy existence?

Hi guys, I am 2 days post op and feeling pretty damn good. My boyfriend and I even walk around the park yesterday with no problem. The only issues i've had is with gas and Constipation. I took some gas x strips and they worked like a charm. Also Colace works greaat for the constipation issue. The adult strength tylenol seems to help with the pain so i am no longer taking the liquid vicodin. Sticking to the liquid diet so far and it hasnt been too bad. I hope everyone is doing great.

Kissmygrits, will you be banded by Dr. Lin at Emory? He is a really good surgeon. Will you have it at the Clifton Rd location or Crawford long? I was banded at Crawford Long.

Have a great day Everyone. :(

Hey everyone. Congrats Buttercup! I felt really good after surgery too, and I know that is a HUGE relief.

I haven't posted in awhile. It has been pretty busy around here with the new baby. To be completely honest, I am a little discouraged with myself and my band right now. I had my first fill on the 22 of November and I don't have any restriction. I have 4cc in a 10cc band. I can eat anything, and am frustrated with myself because I have been eating anything. I have not lost any weight in a couple of weeks. Ok, so what am I going to do about it. I am reading SugarBusters. I am realizing that at least until I get good restriction this is still all up to me. The band cannot help me yet, and I don't want to gain back what I have already lost. I called my doctor today and she is not going to make me wait another month for a fill. I go Tuesday for my 2nd fill. I SO HOPE THAT HELPS. Everyday I say that I will get back on track and I am really having a hard time doing that. I know why I need to and I know that I can damage my band if I don't. SO WHY IS IT SO FREAKIN HARD!!!

Sorry to be such a downer, but venting actually makes me feel better.

Hey Renewedhope. How's the new baby? I have a 10cc band, my first fill was 2ccs and I had no restriction either. My second fill was another 2ccs and I had pretty good restriction for about a week. Now I'm back to being able to eat anything too. It's been really hard to stay on top of this, but I'm just trying to hold out and do the best I can until I get to my "sweet spot". SugarBusters is a really good diet. I did it for my pre-op diet and I lost 16 lbs in about 3 weeks. Good luck and don't be discouraged. Once you get some decent restriction, things will be a lot easier.

Renewedhope,

Don't get discouraged. This will work for you... it just may take a little more time to get the effect of the band. You've already lost so much! Don't lose sight of that. I would love to be in you position of almost 30 pounds down! Plus, I don't know about you, but if you're anything like me-- staying the same weight is a victory because most of the time in my life I'm always going up! You will get there!

Buttercup,

It's good to hear that you are doing well. Yes, I'm going with Dr. Lin all the way! In fact, I met with him and had my preop testing the day of your surgery. LOL. I will be banded at Emory U. Hospital. I had a strong preference for Crawford Long, but it was more important for me to get a Dec. surgery date wherever Dr. Lin happened to be that day.

I hope I feel as good as you do afterwards!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have never been known for my patience.

Kiss, you are right, I am usually gaining rather than staying the same. I really hope that the fill on Tuesday will make a difference.

The baby is doing great!! He is so sweet. He rolled over for the first time tonight. He is only 6 weeks old. What a smart little fella. My other baby turned one last Saturday!! His name is Dylan. You may remember me saying that we just adopted him in November. He has lived with us since he was 2 months old. I am so thankful that he is ours. I was watching him play tonight and thinking that it still seems too good to be true. I also have an 8 year old biological son. I have SOOO much to be thankful for, and yes, my band is still on that list. Just ready to put it to work.

It seems that anyone I have ever told about PCOS (including my Primary care Physician) has looked at me as if it was just an excuse on paper for being miserable and overweight.

I was diagnosed with it a few years back, after a great ordeal with infertility. I had to have the tests, and take clomid to drop eggs. I do have two beautiful daughters now, and I am 33yrs. old. Done having kids... I am now ready to attack this weight. I am just about 230lbs. which is what I weighed on the day I went in to give birth to my second daughter in 2002.

I am still battling many of the symptoms of PCOS. I am hoping that weight loss will help bring my periods and hormones more regular. Time will tell.

My surgery is 10 days away and I can't freakin' wait!!!!! I am very mentally prepared and I am feeling strong!!! Anyone who has some wisdom for getting through the first couple weeks.... please share!!!!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
