What did everyone do to assist with the pain where the actual stomach came out and the internal stitch is? I can't even stand or have clothes touch it without hurting

I am 3 weeks post op , I was using a pillow pressed against my abdomen to get out of bed for the first 10 days ... it helped ... I didn't have a problem with clothes touching the area ... hope you improve quickly

Is it internal and does it feel like a blow torch is going off inside you for a few seconds?

It's more constant. Saw Surgeon today he said he isn't worried at all, even though I told him the pain was terrible

My surgery was on March 1st. That is the only pain that I am experiencing. It is the worst! It hurts to turn over in bed, sir, stand, cough, sneeze and laugh. I hope it subsides soon.

Hi , I don't know if you saw my earlier post on this subject but I will repeat it because these simple things will help .

it will be easier for you to turn over in bed , cough, sneeze or even stand up if you gently press a bed pillow to your right side (incision site) when you either roll over or try to get up ! This is done by women who have had c-sections, by anyone who has had abdominal surgery .. the other fix is to apply a heating pad to the area every few hours...

pain should subside 7-14 days after surgery, depending on individual pain threshold..

hope you feel better !

I'm having the exact same pain
My surgeon said it's really common. It feels like there's a knife in there constantly but if I walk it feel like someone is trusting the knife. And burns. I'm comfortable if I'm sitting leaned back with my legs up. That's it. I've been couch bound for 4 days [emoji30] I'm 12 days post op and I'm dying to go back to work!! So bored at home

That pain was truly excruciating. Dr. gave me 3 local injections right into the area yesterday in the office and it relieved most of the stabbing pain. Hoping it lasts awhile.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
