Any puréed food ideas

Recommended Posts

I'm nearly at the end of my full liquids phase, I can't wait to move forward but I'm quite stumped on what to eat. Any suggestions?

I'm three days away from puree myself. I'm jumping right to blender chili. I can't wait!

When I was on the pureed stage I ate cottage cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs, refried Beans with a little bit of light sour cream... or you could put a little cheese on them. And the thing that I ate the most of was canned chicken that I would mash with a fork (my nutritionist said I didn't have to put it in the blender).... and I would add a little lowfat mayo to the chicken and make a chicken salad out of it. You could also do mashed sweet potatoes, mashed carrots or mashed potatoes. I didn't eat much of the last 3 things, mainly because I was concentrating on getting that Protein in.

And I always pass this along because it's great tasting and you can have it on the pureed food stage. A recipe for ricotta bake can be found here: theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com She has a whole area of pureed food recipes... she is a former WLS patient with a great success story.

I can't stand the puréed stage simply because I can't stand the way how it looks! But all that mylighthouse ??Recommends is good. Did you purée the scambled eggs or just tried it as is?

To go along with the baby stomach theme, don't forget your baby utensils! Tiny bites, and wait a bit between. Measure your food since your stomach nerves may not be up to the task of alerting when full.

I'm half-way through the puree stage, and very ready to be over it! I'm doing yogurt, cottage cheese, string cheese (chew it really well), refried Beans with salsa and cheese, ricotta with marinara and cheese, pureed great northern Beans and cauliflower with pesto, and tuna with mayo and pickle juice. this week I found a white chicken chili recipe and a turkey chili recipe I plan on trying. Also, I have Campbell's Broccoli Cheese or Tomato Soup in a pinch. I tried scrambled eggs plain and with cottage cheese, and also pureed deviled eggs, but those all felt really heavy in my sleeve. Tasted good, though.

I can't bring myself to puree meat- I've just been looking for things that are supposed to be that texture.

@jensrdy593 I just did the scrambled eggs as is, small bites. My nutritionist said they didn't need to be pureed.

I wonder if I can have a over easy egg instead of scrambled. How I miss real food.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
