Any regrets?

I'm not really sure if I have regrets or not at this stage of my surgery.

Would it be possible to keep some snack bars with you? Eat a few bites every couple hours between patients.

The snack bars should be something like oats+ peanut butter+choc. Protein powder. No sugar.

Eating two Snacks + lunch during your shift should help. Breakfast and dinner before and after. Bedtime snack if needed.

Hope this gives some ideas.

Thanks Berry78 and yes I have tried this. Depends on where I am working it does work. For example when I work in ICU I carry a snack bag since I cannot leave the floor without relief and Im in the same area all day, usually about 8000 steps. I rearly have sugar drops on these days. However when I'm assigned to working on the floors I'm constantly walking very very busy and although I'm not confined to one area and can grab a quick snack at my leisure usually I'm so busy with crashing patients that I don't realize I haven't eaten until I become symptomatic. I've tried setting my phone but usually don't feel it as I can only have it on vibrate. I typically get 14-20,000 steps when I'm working the floors so I'm using much more energy and my sugar drops quicker and more often. I work as a respiratory therapists for a very large hospital. So Im currently a work in progress. Thanks so much for your input .

I take a ton of Vitamins and always have... something to be aware of with vitamins is that many brands, even the expensive ones, even the bariatric brands, contain fillers and are too low dose to be therapeutic. My clinical nutritionist has me on Thorne Research and Designs for Health.

PS when I had my RNY in 2003, I was told that I need only take a children's Multivitamin, an Iron tablet, and a Calcium tablet. THAT is completely untrue. I suggest working with a really good clinical nutritionist to set yourself up so that you might avoid nutritional deficiencies and the ripple effect of those deficiencies.

May I ask of you are having any dental issues? I just read an article about RNY patients 5 to7 years out having many issues with their teeth, ending up with dentures.

I don't have any dental issues. But I know of people who do.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
