I started going backwards before Christmas. I am 19 months out . I gained 15lbs all because I found it real easy to eat soft things that didn't bother my stomach . Like fudge . A big no no . I am back on track . Now I have lost another 5 lbs and going strong

You better know it, especially if you paid cash out of your own pocket. Long hours, sweat and tears! 5 years out and I won't turn back....size 221/2 to size 10. Still do my walking only problem is when I feel myself and eat sweets or something greasy. I get that sick feeling to throw up. Hang in there, it works.

10 yrs post op..... seriously battling 32 lb regain after a 175 lb weight loss. My advice..... RNY should not be an option except for extreme cases of morbid obesity. It requires 100% commitment 24/7 365 days of the year. If you're not ready to love yourself...... any permanent weight loss program will not fill the void.

I did the 5 day pouch test. It will get you back on track. When I finished, I heard about the 48 hr pouch test. It will help you get back to that right feeling and cleanse your system. Great luck to you.

Thank you I like this sight everyone is so much help and I am committed. I went from 458lbs to 245lbs they back up to 260lbs and now I am at 255lbs I will never go back that way again . It isn't about the money I spent but my health and the great feeling of being able to do things again and walk long distances as in hiking. Going out and sight see I love it. Thank you everyone you are wonderful people

Lol I have a "friend" at work who likes to say she lost her weight the "real way" and "on her own" and I just gently remind her that I'm in the gym 4x a week for 90 minutes and weigh and measure everything - trust me, I have a tool but I'm most definitely doing it on my own. I don't have anyone doing anything for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
