Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

at the min i can eat a horse, eating that kit-kat, crisp, chip

How are you managing to eat this? I tried some sausage the other evening, chewed like crazy and paid for it losing my boots completely! Wasn't pleasant. Had to wait an hour or so and then had a yoghurt to help calm my insides.

Doesn't the above stuff get stuck?

MummiesBB: Very good advice Thank you

Another Question, when you did the bank Transfer (which i will do as well) Did you go with your Bank (did they charge) Mine is £19.50 to do Bank Transfer, and I'am wondering about WesternUnion or some sort?

Yes I did and the charge was £24.00 for the full amount they were very thorough and wanted to know who, what, why, where. I didn't enlighten them what it was for just said medical.

HTH I used the bank as I felt it was a little more secure. Don't know anything about Western Union. What do they charge for this service?

hi tiger,i just looked at your profile so i think your going with dr chris debruyne,if your going by yourself you wont need much at all, because after surgery you wont be fit to eat so will just need money for drinks, and food the day befor surgery i would just have 200 euro with me to be on the safe side, but you wont need it if you take all your stuff with you, travel light hun:wink2:

thanks everyone for the kind words of support - getting excited now. Pity that we ar enot going the same time as your daughter freckles...would have been great to meet up!

Also to the new bandsters who is providing us with so much information on here - hope you are all well on the road to recovery - it'll be worth it all.

Tiger - are you going with Dr Chris in belgium. If so we are banded on the same date; myself and a friend are booked in for the band 02/11. Let me know and we can look out for each other if this is the case.

Hey all.

Got my date for Brussels. Heading over in January. A bit nervous about going on my own. Don't mind going over on my own. It's coming home after the surgery that I'm worried about. I'm sure it'll be fine though

hi tiger i booked with bridget as well she is really helpful even after the surgery you can call her up and ask her questions. if you call her she might be able to tell you who else is going when you are. its the same money with her anyway she just a sec for chris. I would not take much money with you. most things you can pay on a card. I don't know maybe 100 euros? the good thing about euros is if you don't use then i just keep them for the next time i am on holiday.

Hello All

As you probably noticed I'am new to this, I have finally joined after reading this forum for a week or so now lol

My Band is dated for the 2nd of November and I'am so so nervous even though i have thought this through for many months now :smile2:

And i like routine and schedule, and just a question, How much money would i need to take with me (apart from the Surgery money)

And what would i need to take with me ?

Thank you :) x

apart from the money you need to take thing like nightie, relaxing clothes, i took some of those slim fast shakes , just things that you would take on a weekend away. The hotel is all right clean and tidy, nothing grand really but it was nice to meet other people while i was there who where in the same boat and i still email them

Hi Jane

I don't mind being on my own. It's just going home after the surgery that I'm a bit nervous about. Yeah I am from Dublin. I'm sure there'll be someone else from Dublin going too. It's a bit early to ask. I just wanted to book early. Did you go on your own?

yes i went on my own there was someone there from ireland when i went,i think she flew into dublin and then went on somewhere else in ireland. i bet you will find in the next few months that people sign up for then. It was alright as i meet people there i was in a room of three people, one girl from ireland then me and another lady from uk. we all got on very well. That was in the hospital. the night before we meet up in the hotel at the consultation. They were on there own too so it was good for chats.I would not worry its really near the airport and you can fly straight into dubin so it will be on problem.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
