Re the Insurance

I found a company who will cover it, cost was just over £80 to go to Brussels on the 4 day trip, this covers travelling companion also.

Commpany details are as follows

Angelis - Travel Insurance for Cosmetic and Medical Sugery Abroad

Hope this is helpful to any others who may be considering taking this step. I am hoping to have mine done in November.

best wishes to all

Hiya all, just checking if I am right on my timetable for eating. I was done last Tuesday, am I right in thinking its mushies tomorrow. I left the info in my travelbag which has been put in the loft I think! Will have to get it down tomorrow.

Also are these sorts of things ok for mushies??

Mashed potatoes, mashed up carrots, broccoli, turkey mince?

So glad you're feeling better and looking to eat! If you have a look on page 447 (I think) of the forum, you'll find a list I posted of suggested liquids and mushies. Do take it slowly; I'm a month in and still find it difficult to eat some things - not bad for the weight loss, but a little tiresome on occasions.

Hope this helps

Hiya, I looked at the list thanks for that its really good. I am finding eating fine to be honest. I am really worried about it as I just had 2 crispbreads with tuna mixed in guacamole on. I do feel satiated but found eating them fine. My first bite was a bit uncomfortable and I felt like it went down very slowly, but after that the rest was fine. I am so worried this isn't going to work for me. I am having a fill at the end of the month so hopefully that will have more of an effect on me. I have lost a few lbs though in this last week.

Firstly....

thanks00096.gif

for your kind wishes, I do feel better after having 3mls taken out, and I'm starving cos I havent been able to eat since thursday cos of this Colonoscopy, roll on tonight when it will all be over. Havent got to be at the hospital till 4pm !! Stupid time.

My grandaughter is coming on a treat thought I'd share these pics with you.

Gabrielle's mum put this hat on her and she hates it, she cries, so I think it must be uncomfortable for her.

You can see by the second pic her lip is starting to quiver, just after I had taken this pic she burst into tears God love her lol.

The best thing to take for your liver is Milk Thistle tablets, most of us on here took them before the surgery, they come highly recommended, in shrinking and cleansing your liver.

Also avoid any fatty products, hope thats of some help. A low fat diet is the one to be doing Sherrybabe.

Hiya

Thanks you all for your messages and support. I am feeling so much better. Dr Chris said I had a haematoma on the opposite side of the port which is what is causing the pain. They could have operated again but he said it was quite small and would go on its own but would take about 6 weeks.

I was planning on going back to work next week, but I'm just taking it on a day by day basis at the moment.

For anyone going over to Brussels soon, I cannot praise the hospital, hotel and staff enough. You will be well looked after.

Knackered, back to bed for me.

Hello love

How much is in your band? Are you finding it difficult because you are not restricted? How long till your next fill?

If your head is not in the right place right now i think you have 2 options...

1) Just go with it and eat what you want within reason until your next fill.

2) Go completley hardcore until your fill...this normally works for me. Do slimfast or just make yourself thick Soups to have etc Dont give yourself the option to eat anything else. I know this is drastic but its the only way it works for me. I need the band to control how much i can eat, if its not doing that then i have to strip it right back to basics like i did when i lost weight before the band. Of course i always used to put the weight back on again but you wont because its only until you get a fill.

People say to me now 'as you have lost the weight now are you going to have the band removed' um NO, if i dont have restriction i will eat and eat and eat i know this because i still do it now if im not tight enough. Its OK to struggle, we have all struggled probably most of our lives so its going to take more than a few months or a year to learn to eat like thin people without a bit a plastic round your stomach.

Just dont get too stressed about it, your band will work its just not 100% at the moment!

xx

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
