Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

Didn't mean to worry anyone, I think those incidents happen when Dr Chris had a different fill doctor working for him. I am talking a couple of years ago. Dr Chris has given a lot of business to WLS because he is so busy so I think they are in a business agreement. plus they do really good packages which half the amount you spend on fills. every one is different and prefer different fill doctors I only wanted to share my experiences sorry.

Hi all. For all of you who had their surgery with Dr Chris, what is your experience like? have your met your goal? any complications? would you recommend the band?

I am still confused between the band or the sleeve.

sharing your views are appreciated.

thanks

Hello all, due to have my first fill next week!

Wondering if you lovely lot could share your experiences regarding

1. The actual fill, how many cc's, does it hurt?

2. What can you eat afterwards, ie if on liquids how long for?

3. Can any off you feel your port, all I can feel is scar tissue?

That's it, but as always am thrilled to hear any other pearls of wisdom you have to offer.

Thanks again,

You really are an inspirational lot!

Brilliant experience, more than exceeded goals. No complications other than slight overfill but that has been sorted out now. So glad I went for band as I felt it was the least invasive procedure for me.##HTH

Initial 3ml then followed by 2ml then in increments of 0.5 or 1 take it easy as it's easy to have more and cause problems

No doesn't hurt

Liquids for 3 days then mushies and then back to normal food. Julie will give you a gude and emergency contact numbers etc.

Yes I can feel my port especially the skinnier I have got. It's fine

HTH

Good luck

not sure about normal hun, when i got my last fill at first i could eat a fair bit but my band tightened by itself after a few weeks i can only manage Soups and wotsits, yoghurts, its not too bad because im not hungry so wait and see what you can see and try more Protein foods like scrambled eggs and see how you go xx

Thanks Wannabe,

I'll try staying away from carbs, I've been good with lunch and dinner i just cant seem to find quick Protein breakfasts and i cant have scrambled egg because i usually have that at lunch as an omelette so any ideas would be great.

Also scales dont seem to be moving at all so really confused as i'm not eating half as much as i did before my fill and i'm counting calories on a tracker on my phone and only take in a max of 1200 a day. is this too many?

HI all

Went for my fill yesterday with Dr Chris. Wow you lot are rowdy in the waiting rooom ahaha all I could hear was burping and giggling. I was chuckiling away to myself at all the happiness in there. I would have come through and had a chat but I took the husband and baby with me and there wasnt really enough room so I hid round the corner. Plus the baby was asleep when we arrived anyway.

Had 1.25ml in and feeling tight as hell today, can get fluids through though, albeit very slowly.....

I didnt realise the bands were 7ml though, Ive now got 5.25ml in mine, Tummy feels sore inside though.

:D

Hope everyone is well

Hello Everyone,

Haven't been on here in ages......

Last year had to have a bronchoscopy after having lung infections for the best part of 6 months.

Ii Found out my lungs were clear but it was my wind pipe that was inflammed.

This was caused by the band being too tight and constant reflux at night, with droplets going in to my trachea every night.

Was prescribed steroids to reduce the inflammation in the trachea.

The consultant diagnosed I was anemic too.

So big defill in November. Since then I've put on 8 kilos.

I've booked to have an x ray in Belgium at Dr Chris's clinic on Wed 15th Feb.

I'm afraid that a 'pouch' has developed above the band, as when the band was 'tight' I could still eat loads.

So just curious has anyone had a fill with Dr Chris's clinic before?

What am i to expect?

Need him to do a fill while I'm there

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Hi there, I did have to go to Dr Chris' house for an emergency defill last year. He has offices in his house, one for consults and another that houses a great whacking great x ray machine! I had a liquid swallow to check the band and a 2ml defill. Taxi waited outside his house and I was in and out within 10 mins. Just a word of warning- terrible diarrhoea about 1 hour after, not good for journey home in car as booked eurotunnel same day return! He did warn me about this but only the second after I swallowed the bloody liquid. Next time will book hotel for the night and get there quickly! Let us know how you get on cos am seriously considering another trip over and incorporate a mini break.

Crikey did you go from the UK? How come you went all the way over there? That must have been a bit pricey. Were you not able to go to one of his London (or whereever's closest for you) clinics? x

Hi all!

Well it's took me over a week to read from the start of this topic, & I'm delighted I did. I'm meeting with Bart Rommes ( Patient Care Manager with Belgium surgery services) on Friday 17th & hoping to get booked in for may! Has any body ever meet Bart? Does he work directly with Dr Chris? :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
