Hi everyone,

*******INFO FROM WENDY************

Had my second fill today, she put in 1.5mls so now I have 4.5mls in the 7mls band. I'm down 2 stone now so I'm ecstatic. I mentioned to her about the reservations people have about going to her for the fills and making the guarantee with Dr Chris void.. She said she has a guarantee from Chris that any patients that come to her for fills will still in fact be fully covered in the event of anything going wrong. If however you went to another fill provider and then her then you wouldn't be covered (unless it's fred of course). Also wendy mentioned that she is insured for 11 million so she's well covered. She said in the event of a problem (like garrys)she would send the patient back to Chris and he & she would come to an aggreement re costs. Hope that puts peoples mind at ease.

I don't want to be a sceptic but I'm not at all convinced

that this would be the case because I know that on my first visit to Wendy I had to sign various bits of paper work and one of them was a disclaimer that in the event etc etc WLS wouldn't be held responsible. Hope Wendy is a women of her word.

i would concur with this but i dont doubt that she said that for one minute i would just ask them to put there policy in writing for you and then that keeps everyone right, if they do that then great.

Forgot to say my brother in law and sister are going to belgium to get banded on the 16th of October. Hes not bothered who knows but sis is like me and wants to keep it to herself but doesnt know if her other half can keep his mouth shut. She will be so embarrased if it gets out. Any way keeping it in the family as they say. Jx:thumbup:

Cor i wish that Fred had come back to me with that offer. Ive ended up organising everything myself, flights, transfers, hotel etc. Ive gotta admit i feel a little let down with the lack of info forthcoming from the clinic re pre-op arrangements, but soooo thankful for the tips from you guys. 7 days to go for me!!! Wahey!

Hi Bev 4971

Sorry havent replied sooner been away for work!! Yes it was a good deal. I heard from Fred straight away and sent off the deposit next morning. But have heard nothing since, despite emailing four times now!! Did anyone else have this problem. Also how soon do you get notification of the pre op diet, as I am beginning to worry.

Thanks

Well done Carrie on reaching your goal you must be thrilled.

Hi home care i got it for £60 off of gumtree the lady wanted £100 for it but i knocked her down it is in excellent condition.I was going to hire one to see if i liked it but they are looking for £60 a month to hire it .So i got myself a bargain. My partner says shes going to use it but i doubt it .Beeboo has said she will buy it off me if Michelle doesn't use it so i wont have lost anything.

Hows the Water going down now Gary hope alls OK now?

If you look in bandsters profiles you see there profile photos too.

Well done sjs on getting banded the pain does ease .I thought someone had danced on my stomach when i got banded .Every day you will feel better

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
