Hello,

I did some research on what is a good Bariatric online group to join. I cam across this one. I am quite nervous about getting surgery done tomorrow. I wanted to ask if any of you were on the post-op diet for only a day. I had my appointment on Wednesday and my surgery date is Tomorrow, did not give me much time to diet. That only gave me a few days to diet. My Dr. didn't ask me to go on liquid diet until a day before my surgery. He did mention not to gain weight though. Did any of you guys encounter such issue? If so, did your surgery get cancelled for weight gain or fatty liver?

your dr has examined you and knows the issues. each one of us is different. I have heard everything from one day to a month but it all depends on the surgeon. trust him. I was not on a liq diet at all. also just told to not gain weight and I had a laproscopic rny. never had any trouble and ate kfc mac and cheese for my first meal out of the hosp. of course could only eat three bites. I have done great with no issues but dr knew my liver was fine from all the pre surgery testing. I sure wish you the best of luck tomorrow

I read on this site that alot of people went thru the 2 week pre-op deit. I spoke to my dct and he said it was mandatory to be on the deit. So I chose to do it anyway and it worked out fine. I trust your surgeon knows what to do you will be fine

Pray it goes smoothly today as I'm sure it will! Typically they want two week of Liver Reduction Diet but I only did one and was approved for one because I was not severely obese. So I did a full week of nothing but smoothies the week before but again trust your surgeon and most of all your higher power. Let us know how you do please.

My surgeon only requires 1 day of pre-op diet too which scared me because I hear everyone else talking about 2 weeks or longer. But I'm trusting them and trying to eat healthy for this last week (surgery on the 25th). Best of luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
