Sleeved on 10-3-16. Starting weight 214. I am down 70 lbs. But redrawing battle lines re. my eating. Slipping back into bored munching and very annoyed. So far I am not gaining, but cannot keep this up.

I need to get back to recording intake and getting my H2O back on track. I am 10 lbs away from goal, and have been for 2 months. It is hard, as I am just so darn happy with the way I look. Best thing I have ever done for myself. I run/walk 2-3 miles a day and work out with trainer twice a week. Oh, and I am 68 yrs. old.

I really want to be at goal on my 1 year anniversary. That would also put me in the "normal" range on my BMI. Of course, now they are changing the game and saying you need to have a waist circumference that is 1/2 your height. That will never happen. I could weigh 98 lbs and my waist/tummy would still be fat. Sigh. Come on media .....let me bask a little while in my newfound energy and size.

Tried to attach a pic. No dice.

Heeeeyyyyy Kel how are you? How's it going? I never imagined on the 4th Oct 2016 that today I'd be over 100lbs lighter. Seemed it was going to take forever to get there but I'm here now with 38lbs to go!! Want to push to get to that before the 1yr anniversary so will start working out with a personal trainer again.

To Kel and her Surgery Day Twin, I am your Triplet. Y'all are doing better than me, but isn't it fun to be where we are now instead of where we were 10 months ago!!!! Congrats to you both.

@facebro29 @PB42

Hi you two!! So cool to be in contact with surgery date comrades!! As far as losing those last few, you're undoubtably getting there!! Before you know it. One thing I did to lose the last 15 was alter my diet a little. I added a serving of healthy complex carbs to one meal a day, and reduced super high fats (mayo, red meat, cashews). I also started cardio 3x a week. These slight alterations let the last 15lbs fall off.

Good luck to you and I can't wait to hear your next updates!!

Pre Surg Weight: 215

Total lost: 62 Pounds.

I feel GREAT. No issues whatsoever. Never threw up.. nothing. But.... hair loss... ugh. That's a different story. :(

Surgery Date: 10/23/2016

Pre Surg Weight: 230

Surg Day Weight: 218

Weight today: 170

Height: 5' 3"

Total lost: 60 Pounds.

I am in a very weird place. I have changed my eating habits in a huge way. Protein first always. Way more balanced meals. Water. Vitamins. Stop when I'm full. I know when I've hit that "last bite". But at about month 4, I went back to eating sweets. I do eat chocolate and ice cream and I guess if I admit it to myself, I do still binge on some level. I certainly eat much less, and am more mindful of making a choice to eat this stuff in moderation. I stop when I am full, which is a big change. I haven't gained weight but am only losing at the rate of about 2 pounds a month over the past 4 months. I feel like I could eat this way for the rest of my life as I don't feel deprived. I also exercise.

My issue is that I am having a hard time adjusting to "me". I look in the mirror and don't recognize myself and it's a little disconcerting. I look too much like my mother. I don't like that. The more weight I lose, the more I don't feel like myself. I think this may be why I am not being more stringent about my food.

I am a widowed middle-age mom and I am happy to find dating easier and more fun. I feel great and like the way I look in clothes. (I don't like all the extra skin.) I can do anything physically that I want to do. I feel like I "SHOULD" lose more weight. But I'm not sure I really want to lose much more. I always felt best at the 160ish weight so that would be about another 10 pounds. I just don't think I'd feel like myself at less than that.

Sooo, I am trying to just trust myself, to tell myself that I'm not a failure at this program if I stay where I am, that there is no "should" in terms of how much weight to have lost and that it's okay to be happy exactly where I am. And then there's so many of you out there with 100 pound losses at this point, and I am in awe and amazed and someone jealous o f that tremendous amount of weight loss. I guess perhaps I'll sign up for another 10 pounds and see how I feel there and go from there. But aside from the over-analyzing of what I "should" be doing, I feel friggin' awesome!!!

Hi guys well it’s all most a year on 28th of this month and today I hit my goal, intact 1lb under [emoji1303]. My start weight was 241.5 lb and I am now 146lb and very happy. It’s not been an journey and the 1st few months I was sick A LOT and I did wonder if it would ever stop, now it’s only occasionally maybe 1xper week max. Red meat doesn’t agree with me still and Snacks go down to easy! So I am still mindful of what I eat. I do attend a regular slimming club and get weighed every week which helps to keep me on track and very focused. How’s everyone else’s doing? I have my 12 month review in a couple of week but need to reschedule as we are on holiday and this week I bought 3 new swim suit. I do have a small amount of loose skin at top of thighs and tummy but nothing to major. I am very happy in cloths and love buying new things. I really wanted to add pictures but I can’t so if anyone technically minded can help that would be great [emoji1303]

Sleeved on 11-29-2016. Surgery day weighed 396. Currently at 230, loss of 166 lb. I eat 3-4 times a day, 4-5 ounces at a time. Still have a Premier Protein drink you buy from costco almost every morning. i can't stomach fruit because of the high sugar, fried foods, beef and chicken liver and any raw fish. Otherwise I'm OK.

Hi everyone!
Seems like we’re all doing good [emoji2]
I hit my goal and I’m trying to maintain now. So far, so good.
Starting and surgery weight: 292
Goal weight: 185
Today: 187

I had skin removal surgery and they took off the last 15lbs and got me to my goal in August.

I eat 5-6 times a day. 3 meals and 3 Snacks. I don’t stress about food and eat in moderation. Including sweets and carbs! I do limit gluten and dairy as much as possible as I have sensitivities to them (pre surgery condition).

I currently don’t exercise very much as I’m a full time university student, and work 20 hours a week running a psychiatry clinic, plus I run after my 2.5 year old and husband. Planning to step it up in January when I’m done school.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
