New here and getting sleeved in the morning...

Recommended Posts

The night before felt like the night before the first day of school mixed with the stress of having to wake up early to catch a flight!

Just try to relax and go for it! I'm a week out and no regrets thus far. Happy healings!

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm excited for a new beginning, but nervous for the surgery. I think it has to do with those that support it and family members that do not.

Well tune any unsupporting people out.

What matters most is that you support you. It's up to you ultimately. You're doing something really good for yourself and not for anyone else.

That's what I realized myself although I'm grateful I have my whole immediate fam on board anyway. It felt so good to do this for me knowing it's a big leap of faith in the right direction.

I had my surgery last Thursday. This is normal. But you will be so happy once it's done and you start seeing results. I woke up later that day after my surgery thinking if mad the worse mistake. Why did I do this? I promise this will pass and you will do amazing. Congratulations on making this decision for a new life journey!

Surgery is set for 8am tomorrow and I am having so many mixed emotions. Anyone else??

I'm on EST, so it's 4:30am here and I have to be at the hospital at 12:30 today. I feel the same way. I can't sleep. What couple of hours that I did get in, I was having crazy dreams. Good Luck to you and speedy recovery.

Good luck to you too! And I guess if you're not sleeping now you definitely will be later today/ or at least you'll be knocked out.

I'm a few days post op and can't sleep myself cause I'm caught up reading about sleeve related things!

You won't be able to please everyone all the time, just do you. Some people think Bariatric surgery is the "easy way out" & that all we have to do is diet & exercise not understanding it's not that simple for some. So say your prayers to whatever or whomever you believe in & step forward to a new healthier happier you! They will come around when they see the change in your demeanor.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
