You can. I did after my band surgery, so I'm expecting it now after my revision

I'm shedding like you would not believe. But my sister who is 4 years older than me, she is 66, has had thinning hair for around 10 years, so I am just catching up with her. She has not had this surgery either, may be genetic. Will look into supplements to see if it helps .

I hear that Castrol oil works amazingly. And there is a supplement too. I can't lose my hair. I'm already starting too because I'm menopausal.

I am only 10 days out of surgery and luckily haven't started losing hair yet.

From my understanding around the 3 to 6 month post surgery , the Hair loss is inevitable. Our body is in extreme shock due to the rapid weight loss. There will be hairloss on a whole other level, like clumps of it. However, this doesn't last forever, within a few months of losing some of your hair, you should start seeing regrowth and within a year you should have some of your beautiful locks back.

JUST MAKE SURE TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR Protein AND NECESSARY Vitamins.

I went through chemo 2 1/2 years ago. I learned I liked my head better bald than with hair! LOL I thought about shaving my head prior to my sleeve surgery but my partner didn't want me to. Instead I went back to very very short.

Keeping up with your Protein and Vitamins may help, but many people who do everything right still lose hair. It doesn't start until 3 or 4 months post-op. The good news is it does grow back.

Some people think Biotin helps but I have heard it makes some people grow hair in other places (upper lip, chin) I have dark hair. That is not a risk I am willing to take.

Washing less helps since washing and combing while wet stresses hair. I plan to get dry Shampoo and wash less. I also have been wanting to get a really short hair cut anyway so I may go ahead and do that soon (I am 6 weeks out) I think since my face is thinning out a shorter cut will be cute anyway.

I have been on Biotin since I my last round of chemo 2 1/2 years ago. I have had no problems with unwanted hair growth.

I started getting hair loss around 5 months (I'm now 6 months post-op). My hairdresser cut it short and dyed it blond! I didn't originally want blonde, but in order for the Hair loss not to be so obvious, we had to keep lightening it....

I actually now love this color and plan to keep it going forward! New body, new hair, new attitude! B)

Starting around 3 months post, I started having huge amounts of shedding. My research says that it either happens or it doesn't, supplements don't make any difference. Getting enough Protein in is what lets it grow back fast.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
