No one in Nov?

April- OMG! I can't believe that someone would come up to you and tell you that! I guess it just goes to show that our feelings of everyone staring at us is correct! I would have made some kind of complaint against that woman. Who is she to tell you what size you need to be wearing? I've been in plus sizes since high school and the smallest I've been in about 10 years is a 16. I am now in a 22/24. I thought I was so fat in high school but I would love to be that size again.

Dianne - Welcome! I am pretty new here as well and I don't know the ends and outs of everything. I saw on another thread where to get the ticker from but I don't even remember the website. Sorry but it looks like I am no help.

Dianne - I just realized that you can click on my ticker and it will bring you to the website to get one. Then you copy the code over to your signature.

Hi Guys!

I'm a November Bandster! My Surgery date is Nov 9th with Dr. Rodregiez in Monterrey, Mx. I am very nervous about going to Mexico but at this point I'm just trying not to think about it to hard.

Good luck to all of you and I will be looking forward to your success stories (as well as my own)!

Hey Ashley and Elizabeth ! Welcome

Patty - My doctor told me that I should only need about 3 days to recover from the surgery. He said that I may still be a little sore but nothing that I can't handel at my office job. I am going to take the Thursday, Friday and Monday off just to be on the safe side.

I thought I would be back to work on Tuesday after a Friday surgery and NO GO! I actually have an office job as well, but did not feel able to go back for 7 days and actually took off 9 days because of weekends. I am a workaholic and it killed me to be home. I tried going in one morning and by the time I was ready to go, I felt like I needed to lay down. When I got to work, I had hot flashes and felt wiped out.

I guess what I am saying, is be careful about your plans in that first week, because they don't always go as planned! Good Luck to you!

Nessa, which one do I use? HTML? And where is my signature? Do I cut and paste it everytime I send a message? I don't get it. Sorry for being a bone head. Dianne

I have heard from some people that they were feeling fine the next day and then I heard from some that it took about a week. I've asked a few if it compared to a c-section and they have said it's much easier than that. I did fine with my c-section so am hoping I do well with the healing from this.

Dianne - Go to Quick Links at the top of the page and there should be an option to Edit Signature. You copy the code from the website and paste it in the signature box. I don't remember what code I used but I believe it said for message boards or something like that.

Hi Nov Bandsters. I have been away for awhile and see that a lot more Nov Bandsters have gotten together. I am feeling everything everyone else has talked about....fear of failure or making all those scary changes, excitement for the regular stores...so many mixed emotions. I come here and I know I am not alone. The support and kindnesses helps strengthen my courage.

On another note, I am completely and totally dumb when it comes to the ticker thing. I have worked so hard on this that my brain hurts and I'm obviously no further along. Is there someone who can give computer-illiterate type directions on how to actually get the ticker from it's website to the signature page? I need simple and detailed directions.

Thank you!

Penny

choose from.

5 - Click "NEXT" After you pick your ticker band NOT before.

6 - Choose your Ticker Slider...there are 10 pages to choose from

7 - Click "NEXT" After you pick your ticker slider NOT before

8 - Choose a Password/PIN whatever you would like and can remember

easily since you will need to use it to update your ticker when your

weight changes

9 - Select to track your weight in either Pounds or Kilograms

10 - Enter what you like your final target weight to be

11 - Enter your Starting Weight (Highest Weight)

12 - Enter your Current Weight

13 - Enter the date you weighed in at that Weight (MM/DD/YYYY)

14 - Choose height units such as English or Metric

15 - Enter Height in Feet and Inches

16 - Click NEXT

17 - Select with your mouse all the words in RED in the box below the bbCode... DO NOT select the brackets with the "url" in it either before or after...only the ones with the p><p>[i][color=#800080]WOW that was long!!! I hope that was ok for you I wasn

I am sorry you do select the whole bbCode including the url and brackets and you won't need to save the we address on your Favorties page since you will be able to click on the ticker on any of your web pages and it will take you directly to the Update page...

So on #17 - Select all of the "bbCode"

So FORGET #21 and #22

Sorry if this was any confusion.... Let me know and I can repost.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
