I was sleeved Oct 6th. I'm on clear liquids I think until Thursday or Friday. But I really feel like i could tolerate yogurt, Apple sauce, and some other full liquid stuff. But I'm sticking to the plan. I keep having stomach spasms. I assume this is normal. How is everyone else doing?? I haven't weighed myself...

It's so tempting to try and skip ahead. I feel you. The hospital made me a banana milkshake the second day after my surgery. It was the best thing I've ever tasted. I was sleeved 2 days before you and I've been drinking shakes, thin Soups, yoghurt etc since day 2. Had no problems. I don't know what I'd do having to be on Clear Liquids for so long, so you're doing awesome.

I've lost 8 pounds since surgery (I'm 6 days post op).

Thank you all for posting you're experiences so far! It's nice to see how things may go, although we are all a little different in our journeys. I've waited over a year for this to happen and have had doubts along the way but reading experiences and hearing good stories about how things have changed has made me stick with it. Today's my surgery eve, I was lucky- only one day clear liquid diet which is today, tomorrow I head out to the hospital. I'm nervous and hopeful I'm making the right decision but it has helped to read what you early October-ers have faced so far

I have been on a liquids diet since 2 weeks before the surgery. Idk how I'm surviving. I just want regular food. I know i could easily get in my Protein with real food like yogurt, cottage cheese etc. It's just getting so difficult. Tong hard not to skip ahead....

Your stomach needs to heal - think about what it looks like on the inside - you don't need to make it start digesting food. You'll be very surprised at how little you can eat - you'd never get your Protein in through foods this early on. That can take months sometimes. We don't need food to survive - we need Water. Your body is breaking down the fat stores. Hang in there!

@@Janel_2 I have sleeve scheduled for October 18 th as well. Do you have to do a pre op diet ?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm on the 18th too - and on day 8 of the liquid diet! One week from now, I'll be in the recovery room and on the Loser's Bench! :-)

Excited and worried at the same time @rkimom. Do you have to do the liquid diet?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm lucky in a couple of ways.

I am following a 4+1 plan-4 shakes and one very controlled meal. Im grateful that I get one time per day to eat food. Even so, I'm still very hungry.

Second, I currently have a LapBand in place. Even though it's empty, it still causes restriction. I'm having revision because of swallowing issues-I got stuck on a shake the other day!

Well done to you on the walking!! I've been happy just walking a block. The biggest incision hurts so have to walk with an ab binder for the time being.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
