3rd day in hospital\Unable to pass Gas\VSG

I am really miserable! ! I am walking & getting in as much liquid as I can, but completely unable to pass gas. Does anyone have any suggestions? ? Also haven't had a bowel movement in at least 5days. Sorry for the gross information but am desperate! ! Any suggestions would be great! ! Thank you

    My doc said that he wasn't so concerned about passing gas w/sleeve since there was no re-routing. So, hopefully it's nothing bad.

    Might want to get off of narcotic pain meds. They will stop you up.

    Have you been on liquids a while? I was on 2 weeks liquids before my surgery one week before clear liquids. How much of a bowel movement can you do on a liquid diet. I went a week out before, yeah tmi I went, but not much at all. I did pass some gas, I too was in hospital 3 long nights agree on the pain meds, they cause lots of back ups. Maybe it's effecting the gas also? Try going off them and use Tylenol. A lot of us went off pain pills first day or two, some longer. Welcome to the weight loss world!

    I didn't pass gas until my body was ready. Don't worry about it get yourself some mints and suck them . I burped a lot . Then finally when my body was ready started passing wind .

    My doc did not want me taking the gas x strips he said they would not help well my friend had bypass and she said they worked so I took some with me and the doc was wrong they helped me a lot so definitely get you some.
