  2. I am so struggling right now I did great the first year. I lost so much weight in the first couple of months after surgery almost 80 Ibs. I gain about 10 pounds and I am truly so depressed over it. My old eating habits are coming back but I am most differently not over eating. I have lost my motivation to go to the gym too. What do I need to do to get my mojo back?
  3. I am out a 1 1/2 years and I never had a "dumping problem" but I have had food get stuck. I still have sweets a little to much lately but everyone is different. I think the most important thing is to pay attention to your body it shows you signs.
  4. So afraid I am going to stretch my sleeve. :(

My nutritionist had me on a bariatric multi-vitamin, calcium +D3, liquid B12, and a probiotic. Make sure you don't take the calcium at the same time as your mult-vitamin. Calcium and Iron compete for absorption.

    2. MowryRocks

      MowryRocks

I am on a multi -vitamin, iron, B-12, and calcium (citrate, not carbonate)

    3. MoLiver4u

      MoLiver4u

2x a day a multivitamin with minerals - no gummies unless they are bariatric specific

3x a day 500mg calcium citrate (Separate from iron)

      1x a day 50mg Vitamin B1

1x a day 5000 Vitamin D3 (combine what's in multi with whatever you need to reach this)

1x a day for pre-menopausal women 60mg Iron with Vitamin C (not within an hour of Calcium as this blocks absorption.) Post menopausal woman should have this 3x a week.

5000mg a week of vitamin B12 oral dissolving, NOT capsules.

I think many doctors are different but this is what Kaiser told me I needed

    Did you find love again?

My EX Mooched off me.... I saw the signs and chose not act because he was the first guy to show me attention after I lost my weight. I rather be alone then have someone treat me like that... I mean we lost this weight for a reason right? I don't need someone to knock me down when I was down on myself for all these years. We need a man that is going to lift us up and encourage us and love us unconditional because we deserve better!!!

I'm hoping that my days of diet pills are over. I did take Phentermine during my six month pre-op diet program, but there is no need for it since the surgery.

Any and all physical activity is good for you :)

I can't get my heart rate up enough on a bike so I prefer to use the elliptical machine - it doesn't bother my knees, hips, or back, which is key, and I can get into my target heart rate relatively quickly depending on the level I'm working at.

I thought it was just me! Certain flavors of Crystal Light make me feel so bloated and sometimes I get that full feeling like I ate too much and I have to vomit.

    4. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

      I concur with @JamieLogical :)

Have you tried a store brand of the sugar-free drink mixes? I use Great Value all the time for numerous flavors. They are a lot less costly and taste great in my opinion. About the only time I feel too full from a liquid is if I sip on something too soon after eating a meal. Sometimes I get impatient and am just so thirsty that I'll take a sip or two about 15 minutes after the meal and almost immediately regret those sips. The feeling passes, but it still doesn't feel good.

I've been cheating A LOT. But I'm still not gaining. Maybe it's because I portion it? Ugh, I still need to do better. :/

      Good luck!

I provided a list but I have had 3 strawberries in the past 18 months, and that has been one strawberry at a time over the summer.

Depends on the plan you've been given. I have no special limits when it comes to fruit. Some people dump when they're eating fruit alone.

    4. Fredbear

      Fredbear

I can eat fruits but choose not to... I'd rather get the carbs from vegetables. If ever get a hankerin' there are some raspberries in the freezer ;-)

    I cheated

Girl, I am a year out and when I cheat I feel horrible too!! Just remember you got this and tomorrow is a new day!!
  18. Can our stomach Stretch after having the sleeve?

    1. Babbs

      Babbs

As healing and swelling goes down, and things loosen up, capacity will be greater. Otherwise it's very hard to stretch a sleeve, because the fundus, or stretchy part of the stomach is removed with surgery.

  19. So I was doing so good and my niece was over last night and I cheated. I also cheated I feel so mad at myself along with being scared I am going to gain my weight back! Ugh
  20. Lisa_85

    help I'm up 13 pounds

Yesterday was my year out and I can still eat around 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup or take a cup of bites and be full but there are other days I can actually finish a meal. but I also show signs of fullness when I burp or actually have that full feeling. I gained weight over the holiday... Show me a person that doesn't? I think as long as we understand where we are forming bad habits again we kick it in the butt before it becomes out of control.
  21. Why if I am only getting in 700-800 Calories and about 83g protein I am still straving?

During my weight loss phase I was eating 1400-1500 calories a day and at least 2-3 snacks per day. Just make sure you snack on a set schedule and you are eating protein-based snacks. Don't just graze whenever you feel like it.

    3. Djmohr

      Djmohr

I did not notice how far out from surgery you are. You are definately not eating enough. Are you still losing?

    4. fatontheinside

      fatontheinside

How in the world are you getting so much protein but eating so few calories? Also, are you actually FEELING hungry or are you just "mentally" hungry? I had the RNY and I'm 1.5 years out. I don't feel hunger at all... but I know when I need to eat because I can get shaky if I'm not paying attention to the time.

    Constipation

That's awesome. I had it so bad at work I ended up in the ER. (Well I work for a local hospital) I just remember the pains were so bad I thought I was going to pass out. They night before I sat on the toilet for over two hours thinking Dear God what did I do. I still get constipation but I have one of those little kid stools you stand on when they wash their hands and I put my legs on that. That helps a lot too! I think its the well you form your body during it.
  23. I am getting there slower but surely!!
