Does anyone have any suggestions for nausea? I had vsg on the 6th and can't seem to get rid of it. Everytime I drink Water I feel like it gets worse and I've never felt that way before!

Did you get a prescription for anything?? If not - call your surgeon. You can try some ginger tea or peppermint tea - but you'll probably need an anti-nausea med for a few weeks.
I have an appointment today and I'm deff gonna let them know. I'll try the tea out. Thank you so much!

@@Camacho 933 Are you required to do a certain type of shake? If so - try adding some sugar free flavorings, PB2, cocoa powder, instant coffee, etc. to your shakes to change up the flavors a little. If you can pick your own shake - try some different kinds or some Isopure (like fruit juice). I'm supposed to have 5 Bariatric Fusion shakes a day but have only been doing 3 the last few days (just don't feel like having something sweet that often). I've been making my own broth and thankfully I'm allowed celery (that's been dinner the last 3 days). Can you have sugar free popsicles or sugar free Jello? Hang in there!!! I figure if we can get through this - post-op should be easier.

Yea i have a certain shake Bariatric Advantage, thanks for the ideas

@@GBaygurl Are you mixing them with Water or milk? Try blending with ice to see if tastes better. Call and ask if you can do another brand.

Thank you but they never really gave me instructions on what to eat during pre op. I'm assuming it's just the 3 shakes period??

I'd call them and get instructions. I am allowed 5 Bariatric fusion shakes and 3 Snacks of broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello and celery. They should have given you clear instructions.

I feel like I didn't get much instruction on my pre-op diet either. The NUT went over the things that the shake you chose needs to have, strongly recommended Boost, which is awful and I refuse. My surgeon said that I should be taking in 1,500 calories a day so take the calorie count on the shake and divide 1500 with it and 'bam, that's your diet'. Seems so different than what others are doing. So confusing and strange there isn't more of a standardized diet among bariatric surgeons.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
