Had my surgery yesterday. Just now going home, because the surgeon was.l concerned that I might have a small leak. Had to wait until I had a X-ray done and then drink before I could go home. I went so long without anything to drink at all, from Sunday night to about 1:00 today. It was awful! But thankfully no leak and I'm in the car on the way home now.

I went on October 10th for my mini gastric bypass and came out of surgery in excruciating. To make a long story short I was rushed back into emergency surgery where I had a hernia repaired and a bleeding ulcer that had filled my abdomen up with blood. After the second surgery I felt better but was still in pain and totally exhausted. I came home yesterday October 17th and I lost 10 kilograms. Right now I am able to drink liquids. I am moving slowly but I am still moving. I wanted to share this experience because if I had not verbalized the pain to the Dr's and staff I do not know what would have happened. I am excited for the future and am now on the looser bench. It is getting better everyday.

Good luck to all of you from someone who was in a group like this last October! It was invaluable to me to have a lot of us going through the same things at the same time. 10 months later and I am at goal :) - this will become your stories, too. Again, best wishes to each and every one of you. Just keep your eye on the goal; it is well worth it!

How much did you lose to get to your goal weight?

I had complications after mini gastric bypass surgery on October 10th but am home and doing better each day. My stables were removed today and I was able to walk with a little less pain. Still on pain medicine and feeling bloated but was in the hospital for 7 days on continous Intavenous drip. Looking forward to the future.

I had bypass and found i didn't need the painkillers after day 2. not sure if it is different depending on the type of surgery. i was up walking within hours of my surgery and at least every hour on day 2. I think it helped with the gas which is the worst part and the cause of most of the pain.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
