Where did you guys sleep when you got home from the hospital? Were you able to lay flat on the bed? DId you sleep on the recliner? I'm wondering if I need to buy a recliner.

I slept in bed. I am a side sleeper and kind of propped a soft pillow around my sore tummy and wore my binder. the first few days were uncomfortable when I needed to get up, or roll over but after a couple of nights I was fine, by the end of the week I did not need the binder any more.

If you have a recliner, maybe you would use it? but I wouldn't buy one just for this. unless you want one and this is a good excuse!

I slept in bed but first couple weeks not as comfortable. I found that I had to be more propped up at my head than I would have normally found comfortable. The biggest help for me was having a large pillow/ottoman under my legs and a heating bad! Made all the difference in my comfort level and brought my sleep back to normal. Still use them now as well though back to normal on head pillows.

Also, before surgery I had used and loved this app called "Sleep Well" if you pay for it you get more flexibility in background noise, length of sounds, etc. It is basically a relaxation piece that has nature sounds in background. I am usually out for the count after about 2 minutes.

I slept on my back in bed, but I put a row of pillows on my side to kind of stop me from rolling over in the night. After about 2 days I was fine to sleep on my side.

Recliner was the answer for me.

I slept propped up in bed, kind of like you would with a bad cough. It was perfectly fine. I also slept on the couch one night because I was just in too much pain to fathom going upstairs (turns out my pump was leaking and not providing any relief) and that worked okay too. Same situation, kind of propped up.

Slept in my bed on my back. Too about a week to be able to sleep on my side. I agree about the pillow under knees, that did help me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
