I'm on soft foods. But mainly all I do is salmon, yogurt, tuna, hard boiled eggs, chicken in a can same stuff every day. I need a change. Plus I hit a stall so I definitely need a change

How about cottage cheese, hummus, refried Beans or Beans ( make it with cheese and sour cream or cream cheese), ricotta bake, make a buffalo chicken dip to eat like the ricotta bake, homemade Soup (I'm not a fan of canned soups), egg salad, chicken salad (add avocado or dill relish), scrambled eggs with cheese, string cheese, egg muffins...

Experiment and have fun!

For soft foods, week 5, I got to add thinly sliced deli turkey and ham, ground beef, soft cooked veggies, eggs any style, baked potato, soft cheese, and anything that was easy to chew or was mushy. It was my favorite stage and even though I am on solids now, I eat pretty much the same just less carbs. I ate the inside of a chicken sour cream enchilada with sauce, meatballs, meatloaf, topping off nachos, insides of tacos....lots to experiment with.

At 6 weeks out I can't eat more than 1/3 cup for meals.

I will be 5 weeks out Friday. I guess I've learned through trial and error not to push it. I'm really not in any rush to get to "regular foods". Everytime I get myself geeked up to eat something, I can't eat very much of it or I have to eat it soooo slowly that it just loses all meaning, or enjoyment so meals have been disappointing to say the least. I'm adjusting to the whole eating to live mantra and I really am ok with that. It's just I'm 4 weeks post op and its going to take me a bit to get the hang of it. I don't do much snacking between meals. I'm sure I will eventually but for now I do not. I'm still working on hitting my Fluid and Protein goals daily and it is hit or miss.

Yesterdays meals went a little like this.

0615-0645 am 10oz Water

0830-0930 am 1 premier chocolate blended with 1/2 frozen banana

1030-1130 am 10 oz water

1400-1500 1 premier chocolate blended with 1/2 frozen banana (protein goals met)

1830-1900 1 small jar of beech nut chicken and broth baby food (7g protein)

1930-2045 Gym and 32 oz water (water goals met)

2130-2230 5 mile bike ride and 10 oz water

2300- 3 teaspoons of olgas kitchen white chicken chili.

2330- 8oz water

I would have liked to finish my last meal by 8 pm... the bike ride was unexpected so I ate a little chilli once I got home and gave the rest to my husband. Now as you can see I started soft foods on 7/29 but I still incorporate previous stages and will probably do that for a while. I'm in no rush to force my sleeve to tolerate new foods.

Yesterday was a good day. Honestly it was the first day I did all 3. I ate regularly. I got all of my protein and water in, I exercised at least 2 hours. So this is my goal each day. I'm already one month post op so I feel most of MY kinks should be ironed out and theres no excuse why I shouldn't have a plan in place to get them all done. Now I may not get them all done everyday but if I can get it done most days of the week I'm cooking with grease!

Im 5 weeks out and I have had a horrible week. Ive ate everything i been told not to. The things recommended make me sick so i was told i can sneek in 1 or 2 stax chips to help with my bloodwork (dont know how) but since then i just want staxs and cheese its. I didnt even like those things preop and. Now thats what i like. But i do premier shakes and lots of chicken shrimp and i did flank steak too. I feel like ive had this thing forever. Im not miserable but i am uncomfortable. Its so hard to not eat and drink and i dont have enough time at work to eat slowly. :/

One of my favorite things to eat is refried Beans, with some cheese on top. I thinned them with a little Water at first until I felt I could handle the density. Sauteed zucchini and yellow squash, mashed a bit with sour cream mixed in, are so good! Last night my son made 'ravioli' out of strips of zucchini wrapped around a ricotta cheese and egg mixture, topped with some low-sugar marinara sauce and fresh mozzarella. He baked it until the cheese melted and the zucchini was soft. It was fantastic! And if you haven't found theworldaccordingtoeggface.com , you need to go take a look. She has amazing low carb/high Protein recipes on her site, the ricotta bake was the first 'real' food I had post-op and it was unbelievably delicious.
At 6 weeks out, I'm able to eat pretty much whatever I please, but soft foods are still nice as they aren't much of a challenge for my stomach. I still eat Protein first, then veg and then maybe a bit of carbs. Tonight I had grilled chicken, kale and a tablespoon of quinoa.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
