This has been an interesting journey, from initial hunger to anger to acceptance to HORRIBLE constipation. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday. i am nervous but ready!

Will your team let you mix some Benefiber or Metamucil in with your liquids?

Good luck on your surgery! I'm on day 7 of the pre-op diet. I haven't hit constipation yet. I've been quite the opposite with horrible diarrhea. The doctor said to try to wait it out a bit and see what happens. I did start taking some lactose enzyme pills and switched what I could to lactose free. I think the extreme amount of dairy all at once is more of what got me.

The team told me to use Colace and MiraLax. I have taken Colace now while I can still swallow pills but after surgery I will use the MiraLax. I ended up having to use a suppository because it was just terrible. Hopefully the worst is behind me no pun intended :-)

One more day until surgery!!!
