Shira Taki noodles?

Recommended Posts

I am craving noodles. This is the first time I have really wanted anything. Have any of you eaten Shira Taki noodles? They are zero everything basically. I would make a peanut sauce and put in some chicken. I would probably eat one bite lol.

I ear "Miracle Noodles" whenever the family is having Pasta or rice. The noodles really have no taste of their own, but will take on the taste of whatever you put over them.

The Miracle Noodle company will send you recipes if you ask or go online and get them.

Just be sure to rinse, rinse, rinse and then rinse miracle noodles before using them as they have a "strange" odor. Not a bad ordor--just strange.

They work for me. I hope you will give them a try.

Good luck. Let us know if you try them and your thoughts.

Prayers going up.

I enjoy Shirataki noodles. I completely agree that it's helpful to rinse them before you use them. They do indeed taste like whatever you cook with them. I use them in stir-fry and other Asian inspired meals.

I have tried and tried again. I have rinsed them, dried them in a pan, tried different brands, with different sauces, watched countless you tube videos on preparing them, I so wanted to like them. But I can't. I just can't do it. To me the texture is just downright disgusting. Chewy and gross, no matter what I tried. Gelatinous worms. I gave up.

Personal taste. Everyone should give them a try. If they work for you, I'm jealous. Me, I am OK with the occasional Atkins frozen Pasta meals and if I get the urge to actually cook Pasta, a tiny portion of Dreamfields will hit the spot. I have also done just fine with the noodles in Progresso Soups. I don't eat those often, but what I have had has not halted my progress.

Good luck :)

Thanks all. The need for noodles passed lol. I will be ready for it if the urge hits again.

I buy Shirataki noodles all the time, I really like it and as others said, rinse, rinse, rinse. The texture is different, but I'm ok with it.

My main go too "pasta replacement" is roasted spaghetti squash. I buy the frozen turkey meatballs from trader joes for a quick meal w/marinara sauce or Pasta sauce(not a lot) and some Parm cheese & my spaghetti squash, viola! Spaghetti and meatballs

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
