I've got my surgery date for 7-18-16. Nervous. Anyone else have a July surgery date scheduled?

Hi my surgery is scheduled for July 18th also. Are you on the liquid diet also. It is no fun. Wish you well.

My surgery date is also July 18th. I don't have to do a liquid diet but I have to try to consume less than 40 g of carbs a day. I'm so excited. Wishing you both the best and looking forward to reading your updates.

Glad the warm liquids are helping you guys out. I was able to get 55g of protein and 66 oz of fluids today. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

I'm also July 18th, my Dr. requires a one week pre-op diet consisting of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a under 300 calorie lean cuisine for dinner. I can have sugar free jello, pudding and popsicles for snacks in between. I start Monday, this should be interesting!

I have my surgery this coming Thursday(July 14th). I am on day 10 of opti-fast prescribed by Doctor. Excited and amazed I have done this for almost 10 days. Heading towards the finish line of the fast and ready for next chapter!! I am 55 and have been around 200 pounds for about 15 years. I have always been an emotional eater and yo yo dieter. I have lost the same 30 to 40 pounds many times. This is definitely just a tool toward my life style change. I have been reading, journaling and will find a support group and maybe a therapist too. I am looking at this as "All hands on deck". I wish the best for all of you and hope to enjoy this forum for years to come!

How did your surgery go?

Start my preop liquid diet tomorrow surgery 7/25 at 1030am. I'm so excited I'm not even worried about it. I just can not wait to be on the losers bench and get on with my life. I have been very open about my surgery with my friends and co-workers. When the nay-sayers ask if I'm sure my response is as follows: I have so many things I've put off because of my weight and they are my inspiration whenever I think of how overwhelming this decision and process has been. Yes, its a big change. Yes, its going to be a major adjustment but what I'll get in return will be worth so much more then the slice of cake I couldn't have or the cup of coffee I missed out on.

Luckily my friends have been even more supportive then I had imagined them to be and I am very grateful for them and ALL OF YOU!

Getting liquids in better everyday. 57 ounces yesterday. Feeling pretty clear and no groggy after-effects. Just feeling sore near the incision points.

Me too! I am day before you!!!!

I literally feel like crying sometimes, and then I think about why I am having the surgery. My biggest fear is going under aneathesia.

Me too but close behind that is healing the head hunger after surgery. I have been eating for comfort since I was a child. I am 55!!!!

I worry about the head hunger as well. It will take time to get used to a new lifestyle for us.
