My surgery date is 7/7/16 . On day 3 of the pre op diet and having a horrible time . It's so bad that I'm thinking about canceling my surgery. Is the post op diet comparable to the pre op ? I don't know if it's caffeine withdrawal or the strict diet but I feel terrible ! Headaches, nauseous and no energy . HELP .... Please give me hope and tell me it gets better .

Hang in there! Days 2-4/5 were the worst, with each day getting a little better. Stay strong!!!

@@podg25 I'm only 35 BMI then I was loosing weight by change of food habits because I didn't know if I was gonna get approved but yes I did so I had lost weight. I'm trying to eat now to gain a few before I do the liquid diet I don't know if I'll do the two weeks because I'm not at the BMI I was and don't want to be too small, just my crazy thinking that they'll think I'm too small but I have other qualifications like hbp, sleep apnea, etc. I'm just lost here

So, can we talk about something NOT fun? Is anyone having trouble with really bad constipation on the pre-op? I started taking fiber supplements, then today I broke down and took laxatives, but still NOTHiNG. Is becoming very uncomfortable and I am afraid if things don't move before surgery in 2 days, the gas pains and everything will be much worse. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes! I am flying to San Diago and heading to Tijuana for my 7/5/2016 VSG! So glad I found others that are also July babies.

I did the liver diet but I didn't do two weeks but I'm drinking lots of liquid so I hope I don't loose too much more only have til Tuesday but I did loose quite a bit already cutting out sodas and sweets helped a lot I'm not a big eater but I gain weight and couldn't loose it. Just send me a message and let me know how you're doing I have surgery tues at 7am I'll let you know how it goes. Hang in there we can do this @@podg25

I've got my surgery date for 7-18-16. Nervous. Anyone else have a July surgery date scheduled?

I will be converting my band to sleeve on July 8th.

July 20th.

Currently on a 4 week pre-op liquid diet.

It's been a lot harder on this diet than I thought. Am nearly finished week 2. I posted in the July thread but this one seems to be way more popular. I went on a pre pre-op diet too for a few months, and when I switched to the pre-op diet I had to eat even less. And knowing that I couldn't have the occasional takeaway, plus starving, made it so hard. Must admit I cheated twice in week 1... since it was carbs it put me out of ketosis. Since then I'm back on the bandwagon and feel like I got it out of my system. Am currently in a good mindset, however the fact that I can eat some carbs in a month or two keeps me sane, as bad as that may sound to some.

I'm scheduled for 7/21/16.... so excited
