Post Your Silly Rant

Recommended Posts

People who bring young children to movies and expect them to be quiet/sleep through the Fast & Furious~~~~

or the idiots who talk LOUD or get on their phones during the movie.

People who speak more than one language (ex: Spanish & English) that choose to have a conversation in whichever one is NOT known to the other people sitting there. Rude!

I understand if the other person they are conversing with ONLY speaks that language, beyond that, it is rude.

.

I call them movie duds. I can't seem to ever go to the movies without some a**hole sitting right behind me and talking though the whole thing.

Why do I want to pay for a movie and listen to a stranger's narration? I figured out the dog is going to die too, I don't need you to tell me. Sometimes I think I'm not going out in public anymore.

How about people who wait on a long line, who have a few minutes to decide what they want to order from the counter but wait until they get to the counter to first read the menu.

"I'll have the.....ummmmmm........ahhhhhhhh........hmmmmmm..."

Lady or Sir, this is not a decision on whether you should have the experimental, high risk surgery to save your life, it is a decision over a friggin' hamburger, chicken sandwich or whatever!

I would like to get home with the food for my family before they report me as missing and my photo ends up on the side of a milk container!

Can I just rant about stupid people in general? Particularly in the workplace?

Why can't you read and understand an email? If the email says to schedule a monthly meeting in place of a weekly meeting, cancel the original meeting and make a new monthly one! If I remind you that I sent you an email with information you need, search your inbox for it instead of telling me you didn't get it! C'mon - I know you got it. And speaking of email, what's with people not responding to email? When I've sent my coworkers 3+ "follow up" emails over the span of a month and haven't received a single reply - THAT'S JUST RUDE.

/rant (for now)

My email rant is people who send an email and then call you to go over the content. Or when I send them an email, call me to have me tell them what it said. And then the meeting to prepare for the meetings, with the meetings to discuss the meetings.

Yeah, I should go home now.

My goodness, @@LipstickLady - you have so many rants!

Thank you for saying what the rest of us want to. ;)

I'm just getting warmed up.

If you can't say something nice about someone, come sit by me! ;)

And my rant for today is doctor's offices who call to re-schedule (and mind you this is trying to meet the insurance requirements for surgery, so there's a time pressure) the morning of the appointment, but charge you if you cancel without 24 hours notice - and THEN keep you waiting 45 minutes before you're seen. I won't even go into the fact the doctor today had nothing to offer.

The ignoramus at work who brings some damn sandwich or whatever LOADED with raw onions. It REEKS and permeates the entire floor.

And the equally rude bozo who microwaves FISH at WORK.

And my kids who leave one square of toilet paper on the roll and I don't notice until it's too late. The linen closet with spare rolls is in the hall. Not fun.

- People who walk slowly in zig zag motions when in a a crowd.. therefore you can not overtake them.

- Mothers with prams... who think they own the shopping isle... by keeping their pram diagonal so noone who can get through.

- Parents with bratty kids who let them run wild in inappropriate situations.

- drivers who overtake you dangerously and then slow down and drive really slow grrr

- People who take up two seats in the train (just cause they are comfortable that way)

- People who do not get up for the elderly or disabled

- when you are parked and the person waiting for you parks so close to you that you can't get out..

- People in the shipping checkout who wait for their 50 items to be scanned without taking out their wallet and then spend 5 minutes looking for their wallet

I could be here all day lol I'm becoming so grumpy in my old age lol

My wonderful bed has clean sheets, tucked in snugly, and the blankets are all in place and smooth. Then my husband gets in and kicks around to loosen the sheets so he doesn't feel so confined.

Only I am the one that loosens the cover and my husband complains.

I love every single one of you people. I had no idea that the smartest, funniest people in the world were all morbidly obese and then had weight loss surgery.

P.S. I admit I did have to google Candace Cameron Bure.

P.P.S. @@Cervidae ... your clickbait rant made me fall in love with you, and I don't even swing that way.

I wish I didn't know who she was. But I seem to see her all the time now on tv and stories on the Internet. I hated that stupid show Full House and now it's making a comeback! Noooo!
It's difficult to see a Hallmark movie without her playing one of the characters.

How come food packages appear to remain the same size, the weight of the contents decreases, the price goes up, and we still gain weight?

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
