I take PPI and also Ursofalk (in case it's a mix of bile reflux and acid reflux). Haven't been bothered with volume reflux since the surgery so it's still way better than before.

Yes, I had hernia repair but there's still the possibility of a recurrent hernia. That's why they want to take a look. Catastrophizing is awful and I'm really good at it. It took a while to calm myself down but it's still kind of nagging in the back of my brain. "What if there will still be reflux and then barrett's esophagus and worse?! What if I need another surgery to get an RNY anastomosis? And what if then there is still a problem?!"

I guess you know what I'm getting at.

It's a good thing they are checking for you. I am sure you will do just fine and the fix will be uneventful. When I went to the ER last week for my gallbladder I felt so defeated. Four months post-op and this is second hospital stay! Although losing 65lbs it is worth it. Hopefully getting Thai gallbladder out I will be drama free for a while????

@@Lindsey Skinner Abbott: It's still wait and see so far. Nobody wants to perform surgery without knowing all the facts. There will also be a ph-metrie (I'm sure of that) to find out if it's bile reflux or acid reflux.

I guess another hospital stay (at least overnight) for diagnostics is in near sight. Blah.

Meh, I have bad bursitis in the right shoulder. On sick leave now and I guess it will be the next week as well as I'm still on oxycodone, cortisone and metamizol. Not being able to take NSAIDs stinks but luckily there are alternatives.

Ladies (and maybe Gentlemen as well), will you let me whine a little bit?

I'm still seriously bothered by this inflamed shoulder. This bursitis is more crippling than I expected it to be. May I say pain? Like ... PAIN?

Today I got a pain killer patch from my GP so absorption will be guaranteed and I don't feel good about all of this. On Monday I have my next appointment at the orthopedist, either for starting the shock wave therapy (I have major calcifications) or for getting another cortisone shot, depending on how things develop during the weekend.

I feel restless. I'm afraid I'm gaining weight (I don't have, just weighed myself) as my activity is near zero. I just realized how active I usually am. OTOH that feels quite good, OTOH it makes me feel a bit helpless right now as well.

Have to stop typing now. Yup, that causes pain as well. It boils down to TV and reading.

I'm so sad you're going through this. I've heard the pain from that is terrible.

Thanks for your answer. The pain is bad. I never had to take opioids for pain (luckily!), except for the first few hours after surgery, when I had a pump.

I just napped for half an hour using a meditation app. Going to have some hot coffee now. I feel cold when I don't move.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
