I was so glad my surgeon didn't show me the skin or fat she removed. That definitely would have grossed me out! She didn't even tell me how much it weighed, but I did find that later in my paperwork post-op.

How many pounds was it?

It was 12 pounds of skin. I don't remember how much fat was lipo'd out.

Wow. That is amazing. I don't know how many pounds mine was but it was 72 cubic inches removed. Congrats!!

Wow impressive! I don't know much about this, I am only 1 month out after my sleeve.

Can I ask how expensive it was? Did insurance pay for any?

I paid about $12,000 out of pocket. No help from insurance. But it was worth every sacrifice, every second of OT and all the saving. It can be done!!

Depends on what you mean by "recovery". Recommended time off work is 4-6 weeks. If you have muscle repair along with the tummy tuck (which you absolutely should for good results), there will be a good few days where you need help with everything, like just getting up and down. Close to two weeks before you can walk fully upright. 8-10 weeks of wearing compression garments 24/7. A good year or so for your lymphatic system to build new channels. I had numbness and phantom itching for about 2 years due to the nerve regeneration. And I'd say it was about 2 years for my scars to fade to the point they are now. I'm almost 5 years post-TT now, thought and I promise that it was well worth all the suffering!

Not terrible to the point that it kept me up at night, but it was pretty damned annoying from time to time. I almost never have any of that now, though. Just for the first year or two. And it definitely decreased in frequency the further out I got.

Who's your doctor and where is your doctor?

It appears to be an amazing job! Holy cow!

That's today. Post op day 4. I'm usually hunched over but I straightened up a bit for the pic.

Here's another group pic I made.

The itching is real. No phantom pain yet. But itching skin that is numb is frustrating and can be painful. I have also resolved myself to the fact the glue from the tape on the bandages will have to eventually wear itself off. I cannot get it off and my skin is irritated enough as it is. Lol.

The best feeling though is when I go down for a nap and put the ice packs on top of my boobs. Lol

Thanks for that brave before picture. That kind of looks like the skin I know is going to have to go on me. I'm trying to psyc myself up to do what you are doing. I salute your courage. I wish you a speedy recovery.
