Hi. I’m considering a tummy tuck in Mexico. Has anybody done it? Where? Doctor? What was your experience?

BARIATRIC VITAMINS
Hey guys and gals. I'm wondering what brand of vitamins everyone takes. I'm still having thin hair loss issues after 1 year. I take 5000mcg biotin, calcium, b-12, biotin shampoo. The Bariatric vitamins were making me nauseated and I would vomit them within minutes of taking them so I stopped. Surgeon said to double up on multivitamins. But I'm thinking I need to try again to see if it helps my hair. Any suggestions?

Any nurses who got sleeved?
I'm an RN in a very busy L&D unit. I was sleeved a year ago. Just had my surgiversary on Tuesday! I took 4 weeks off and glad I did. The issue for me wasn't pain or mobility. It was being able to get 60oz of water and 60g of protein in. For the first month we can eat/drink so little at a time it requires frequent food/hydration breaks. I knew I wouldn't be able to do that on my busy unit. So I took the month. That's what worked for me. But I've seen other people with desk jobs take off only a week. Whatever works for you. Just be sure to get your protein and water in!!

Canadians having surgery in Mexico
Anybody from Canada here who has gone to Mexico for surgery? How was your experience? How much did it cost? I thought there was a board here dedicated to this but I can't find it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

6 month update.
Surgery day April 4/16. Down 78.2 pounds/66.25 inches! Off BP meds! I feel great! Best thing I ever did. I would do it again in a heartbeat!! Here's before and after pics. My arms are moving at the same speed as the rest of me and I hate it. My arms suck. Sorry no makeup or contacts in the after. I look like a troll.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hair loss
Hi all. I was sleeved April 4, down 68 pounds and feeling great!! Off BP meds, minimal foot pain, getting "looking good" compliments. So happy I did this! However, I'm losing my hair. I knew it was coming but now that it's here I'm kind of freaking out. This is temporary, right? It'll come back, right??? I take 5000mcg Biotin every day. Thinking about doubling up on biotin. Hoping someone will put my mind at ease... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thoughts on amount of protein and carbs in this dish please!
I second My Fitness Pal. I've plugged in recipes to get nutritional values and it works just fine. You can also save the recipe so next time you make it you don't have to re-enter the recipe. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Leftovers?
Does anyone else have trouble getting leftovers down? Sometimes when I eat something fresh made it goes down fine. But the next day after reheating it gets stuck. Maybe the reheating changes the texture or something?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hard Boiled Eggs
I bought this egg cooker on QVC item #K41589 called Eggspress. I love it! Perfect eggs every time! I made so much egg salad in the 3-6 weeks post op. It also makes omelettes and poached eggs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

BEYOND frustrated
I find I can't drink very cold fluids anymore. Room temp or slightly cold. As for the straw, I've been using a straw from day 1 when they gave me a 24oz cup with a straw in the hospital. No problems, I'm 9 weeks post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Any nurses out there with advise
I'm an RN and also took 4 weeks off. It's not just about the work part of the recovery, but also about hydration hydration hydration. And getting your Protein in. Especially important in early stages of recovery. And for me, there was no way I could do that on a very busy L&D unit. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Immersion blender vs bullet
When I was shopping for a "smoothie blender", I looked at both the Bullet and NutriNinja and watched tons of YouTube reviews. The deciding factor was the blades. On the Ninja, the blades protrude deeper into the cup making blending easier. The blades on the Bullet stayed closer to the base of the blades. The NutriNinja blows through ice and frozen fruit with ease. Totally recommend!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
