Oh my goodness I'm local as well I'm having mine at Gwinnett Medical Center on June 30th 2016. I've been trying to find somebody in the area that's having that done the same month so we can keep in touch would you be interested? I have to start my 2-week liquid diet on the 16th of June. It consists of five shakes a day and any sugar-free fluids that are on the list.

I would LOVE that! I've been looking for someone going through the same thing as well. I live in Chatsworth, GA near Calhoun. I'm a type 2 diabetic which is what has put my weight on and I'm hope the surgery will reverse my diabetes. I have 2 kids. My son is 5 and has Autism. And my daughter is 11. I've been married for 10 years. This is a big life change for sure :)

I'm scheduled for the 22nd. Got a call from anthem yesterday saying I needed another month of diet & exercise. They needed documentation for June to complete the six months. Made another appt with my primary for this Friday. Anthem said everything else looked great and that I should be approved by the end of the day Monday. I was hoping to avoid this insurance turmoil. Fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly from here.

I am getting so excited. Pre op testing tomorrow morning and surgery Wednesday morning. It seemed like 2 weeks would never end when I started the liquid diet and now I am so close. I am packing tonight and shopping for post op supplies too. Just trying to keep my mind distracted. Other good news is that my replacement fit bit came in today! I have missed it this past week.

@@cb11 I have only lost about 7 pounds in the liquids. I was on my ToM for some of that and feel that did not help things!!!

I finally made it! Surgery is tomorrow morning!!! As of this morning, I've lost 20 lbs on the 9 day clear liquid diet. I've lost 10 inches from waist alone. I didn't plan what I was going to have each day, but I ended up having 1-2 sugar free Jello cups per day, 1-2 sugar free popsicles, 1 cup broth with different seasonings, and then a ton of Water each day. I'm honestly not hungry or looking for food, it gets easier! *Different surgeons always have different pre-op diets for people to follow. Mine was so strict because I have fatty liver disease and we wanted to shrink it as much as possible!

I'm having my hair blown out at the salon this afternoon so I don't have to worry about it. I'll be in the hospital for 4 days, my surgeon always does them on Wednesdays and releases patients on Saturdays. Packing this afternoon and calling the hospital to get my actual arrival time; it doesn't feel real yet!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
