2 Days on the Other Side

Recommended Posts

2 days on the other side and things are going pretty good. On the day of surgery I had the worst case of dry mouth EVER! I felt good other than that but it might be because I kept up on my pain meds.

My 1st full day was good except for lots of gas. It was bad trying to get it out any way I could. Finally felt better when I got up this morning.

I've been able to drink lots of Water every since coming out of surgery so no problem there. Took my first shower today and took bandages off incisions. I know there is a long way to go but feeling better about it every day. I'm well over 25lbs down since starting liquid pre-diet a week and a half ago. I can see it in my face and the way my clothes fit. Excited but still a little nervous. Still surprises me that I put something in my body.

To be continued....

Congrats, and welcome to the other side! Did they give you a picture of your newly placed lap band? They asked if I wanted one so I said sure. It's kind of neat to look at it.

I'm sitting here tugging at my loose clothes thanks to my 30 pound weight loss. It's weird feeling uncomfortable in a shirt and jeans because they're too LOOSE rather than too TIGHT. It'll be the first time in years where I'll try on my previous year's summer clothes and have them be too big for me rather than too small like they normally are!

Banded living is wonderful!

I am two days post-op today for lap band. I still have lots of bloating, and finding it hard to tell when I'm hungry. I just want all of this gas to go away.

I am on my second day post-op and still in a lot of pain. Most my pain is from gas, but I am still experiencing some soreness from my incisions. I also am having issues with Constipation and the milk of magnesia my Dr. recommended hasn't seemed to help yet. But I am able to sip Water comfortably so I'm happy about that!

I agree about having something in your body! that's the first thing I thought of when I woke up. But we are on the downhill slope now! and it's only going to get better from here!

I was lucky in that I hardly had any pain. I can relate to a day of uncomfortable Constipation - after only one half dose of pain killer. Give that up if you can

Celebrated two year with band a few weeks ago. Down 143lbs. No longer diabetic and no longer high blood pressure. Life is good!

Hang in there!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
