Hello everyone, hope you are all having a great day! I am 5 1/2 years post op, with my surgery being Nov. 2010, no problems at all, now I find myself feeling hungry more than usual and trying new foods. I have gained 15 pounds of my weight back, not liking it. I have to try really hard to find the right food for me, with my Protein drinks, I use opurity Protein powder, and Opurity Vitamins. Just wanted to know if anyone else is having trouble getting the feeling of hunger gone.. thanks

@@jmcpride I'm over 2 years out, and yes, I'm having some trouble. I'm fighting the same 10 pounds, up and down over and over again! I get hungry again, I am able to eat almost anything and a lot. I try not to but it happens. And I have stopped keeping a food journal and I am very frustrated that I can't find anyone to help me with meal planning. My NUT is useless, just keeps saying, use spices--try cajun, try whatever. What I can't seem to get across to him is that it isn't the flavor, I just don't know how to cook very well, don't know what to make, and if it isn't just a chicken breast, I don't know how to portion it. I need help for sure!!

Oh, and I am amazed at how completely wonderful food has been tasting lately! Yikes!

MY DOCTOR PUT IN A PIG VALVE IN BETWEEN THE STOMACH AND INTESTINES SO THAT THE OPENING WOULD NOT STRETCH OUT. THAT IS WHY YOU DON'T FILL AS FULL AS LONG AS YOU USED TO. THE OPENING HAS STRETCHED OUT SO THE food IS PASSING THROUGH TOO QUICKLY. I AM 5 1/2 YEARS OUT AND AM MAINTAINING WITH LITTLE DIFFICLTY. I AM SURE IT IS BECAUSE OF THE VALVE.

I'm 4 year this July. I lost 83 need another 15. Well I been eating bad. Gained 15. My clothes feel tight and I don't like it. It's hard changing eating when your grocery shopper buy junk. I truly believe if I can get a cooking class of health foods I can get back on track. I cook with salt n pepper. Boring!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
