Wow! Wish I had your doctors. I'm not suppose to add Protein for two weeks which will probably be quite difficult because of the lack of energy factor. Thanks for the information. My doctor is in Mexico and I'm Hoping to find one in San Diego to follow up with. Hopefully he will allow me to go on full liquids before week three like my surgeon is requiring.

I started Protein Shakes the day I came home. On Wednesday I get to start pureed foods. I can't wait!

Hey June friends!!! I had my revision surgery on Friday and am doing well. This morning I wasn't able to get more than a sip of Water down, but this evening I am able to drink a tiny bit more and it took me 3 hours to eat (drink) a SF Jello. I am not going to weight myself for a while due to swelling and healing. So happy I am done and on the mend. Hubby said it may be time to wash my hair. So that will be my first big task in the morning. The liquid hydrocodone works very quickly and puts me to sleep in about 15 minutes. I also use a heating pad on low and that helps a ton. Seems to being textbook for me. Good luck to everyone. I will keep you posted.

I'm starting to get a resentment with my doctor. I just looked at my paperwork and she doesn't want me to start adding Protein supplements until week 5!

How long ago did you have your surgery?

I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I had my surgery in a BCBS Center of Excellence so I totally trust their knowledge and their diet care.

There is any way you can find a local doctor or NUT that helps you? I just think that no having any Proteins for 5 weeks does not sound right.

Agreed. That doesn't sound right to me. Everybody's plan is different, though

Are you on a clear liquid diet with no Protein for two weeks like I am? Seems insane not to be allowed protein.

I'm in full liquids but Protein Shakes are allowed in my diet. The doctor wants me to get 60gr of protein a day, but it has been hard to drink a lot. My diet also allows puddings, cream of mushroom, potatoes and chicken (blend and strain).

Here is a picture of the diet my doctor gave me, I hope it helps! btw, feeling great today!

Yes I went to a international center of excellence and my surgeon is the 13th of 18 surgeons of excellence. Stil, I'm already looking into getting a doctor locally adapt to discuss this diet and for my follow up Care. Thank you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
