Today is my first day of pre-op liquid only. Surgery date is 6-21. I already miss my fully caffeinated coffee! It's gonna be a long week.

Anyone else have pre-surgery nightmares? Had my first one last night - in the dream I forgot my liquid diet the day before. Lol

I keep thinking I will oversleep or not be able to do surgery. It has been such a long wait!

I am still waiting on my surgery (June 22). Getting pretty excited now! I could be in One-Derland - and no longer obese, just overweight - by the end of the month!

What are your shots for?

I have a history of pulmonary embolisms. I need to be off my blood thinner so they put me on the shots.

My Allergies started acting up. Runny nose, dry cough, sneezing (occasionally). My surgery is Monday 6/20 and I'm worried this would complicate the surgery therefore my surgeon would postpone it.

Ugh I worry about congestion too. Best wishes for clear days ahead! My surgery is 21, let's both hope for nationwide low allergens.

I feel the same way. I can't help but worry that after all this, something could screw it up! Ugh this is terrible!!! My surgery is the same day as yours. Hope you feel better and the pollen goes away!

Woo-hoo! Have a healthy, easy surgery!

Mine is Wednesday. Last night it really hit me that I was eating my last solid food for several weeks. I didn't have a food fumeral/binge, but I did have a cup of my favorite food (watermelon) to say goodbye!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
