Help...surgery tomorrow...did not loose much pre-op weight

Hey everyone,

I am very embarrassed to say this but I did not loose much weight on Optifast...I cheated on the occasion but nothing to my usual callibar due to being so hungry at sometimes nauseous. My surgery is tomorrow and I am scared they will cancel it. I lost 12 lbs and in one day my scale says I gained 5 how is that? Yet agin I feel like I failed myself. Has anyone experience this?

According to my doctor I had only lost 3 pounds pre-op. I did cheat on 2 different occassions. You should be fine. But each surgeon is different. I have a low BMI so that could be why, I'm not sure but he did do the surgery. He also said my liver looked good and shrunk. Good luck!

I had my surgery on Fridaya and i was really freaked out about my liver too! I only lost 9lbs on the preop diet but I had gained 10 before I started! Anyway, at least for me everything went great the surgeon said it was the easiest he had done in a while. My biggest surprise was that no one even asked me about the preop diet and they didn't even weigh me! I guess every place is different though. Good luck!

I did not lose on my pre-op diet I gained 3 lbs. And they did not weigh me either. Do not stress. After surgery I am doing fine. I wish you well, and let us know how you are doing.
